Spearing gets the nod i think.
Honestly, i actually like the combination of "Spearing-Lucas-Meireles" towards the end of last season.

Now i miss Lucas Leiva

and I miss late nite European game

NO Lucas N Gerrard, should call Joe Cole & Aquaman back too... but only if we seriously challenging for Europe Spot, if not, then the Combo Jonjo, Spearing and Adam is good enaf... could promote Suso as well...

damn..one of our best player gone for the rest of the season..

spearing, get in. but we defo need one more backup for spearing just in case.

I'm absolutely devastated. He's been by far the most inspiring player we've had on and off the pitch the past 2 years or so. It's funny to feel this way for mere injured player but i really adore him as a character. I hope he comes back stronger than ever.

I'll be missing Lucas and he has been class this season. Hope Kenny sees the option of bringing in Raheem Sterling & Suso to senior squad. Gerrard no sign of him as of yet. Spearing has to take up the challenge , so does Adam..

Lucas gets injured and you lot want to buy another player? Seriously? We surely must have the most number of midfielders already. When Stevie returns, Adam will play a more defensive role but until then we have Spearing and Shelvey on the bench. The former has proven to be a reliable player having been a starter last season and the latter has been recalled after a successful spell at Blackpool. I don't think there is a need for panic stations when we have ample cover. No point in having an even biggest clutter in midfield when Lucas returns. I'd rather promote players than buy ala Football Manager.

Adam is too slow & ponderous with the pass to play as the DM in liverpool's system. Even Gerrard is not disciplined defensively enough for the role & I doubt he still has the fitness to run as much as he used to.

At the moment, the best option is spearing. He seemed to be a decent player at the end of last season once he had a few games with the first team. Hopefully he can step up to the role and at least cover the defensive side of Lucas' game.

You're absolutely right , i don't see the reason why do we need new players when we have plenty of talents in hand. Perhaps we need a striker who could possibly run along besides Suarez?

haiyyaaaa...of course we all sad lucas out for 6 months..when Stevie G not playing almost a season we said we cant compete without him etc...but look at us now..even without him we still grind out good result against top teams..the most important thing is teamworks!...relax duhh

Didi Hamann wasn't blessed with pace either but he read the game well. Spearing looks a good option but let's not forget that Dagger has played defensive midfielder as well. He may be tall and lanky but he's done pretty well at left back for us, running up and down the flank. He's pretty mobile and he's stated his desire to play there before. Just saying we have options.
