QUOTE(weichieh007 @ Dec 28 2011, 12:59 PM) I think it'll be a very interesting January especially for the fans.. Everyone has been screaming for a natural goal poacher. With already the big money spending during pre season, I wasn't expecting any major signing from Liverpool. But the Suarez ban might cause Kenny to get a short term solution. A loan move for Podolski anyone? Added on December 28, 2011, 1:10 pmLukas Podolski has some pretty impressive goal scoring stats 29 goals in 75 appearance for Koln 43 goals in 95 caps for Germany Looks like someone who can even score with his butt.. in our case, its useless if the delivery is shiat.

Unfortunately, there is nothing the manager can do, except probably include more drilling session on shooting - to improve shot accuracy, otherwise a game of football is not playing Lego - where you'd just build up shooting -and train them not hit the bar! - pretty silly, i think. You can't do that! Just like a game of snooker - if you are not accurate, you need to practice - any other way to make sure the ball goes in?? - still falls back to practice, practise and practise...
I agree with Duke as much as i said all along - the new boys been together for what - 4 months or 5 months, but expectation amongst Red fans borders to unrealistic and fantasy even - and how can you compare Liverpool to Spurs -Redknapp been there for the passed 3 seasons - they should be challenging for the title not CL spot - give KK another 2 years max - i expect us to challenge for the title - king or no king
As for missing penalty - i tot we dont have a designate penalty taker since gerard was injured, and we lost Xabi. It shouldve been Dirks role, but he is not 1st eleven anymore. I personally think that if KK belief in Adam, then we should stick to Adam as the designate penalty taker.
As for opposing GK being MOTM - well i can only think of this part is because most team who came to Anfield tend to play deep, as such afforded the GK plenty of protection, and when we did get past the defenders, their GK is the last protection, which reduces our odd of scoring. And if you notice - most of the time it is desperate defending for visiting team that prevented us from getting 3 points, this my take, otherwise really hard to explain how come opposition GK can suddenly becomes superkeeper - maybe KK should request for drug test on all visiting GK and see if anyone of them on the take!!

Yeah I can't help but feeling that the ban maybe a blessing in disguise as Kenny/the owner may be obliged to find replacement. And imagine if this replacement takes the EPL by storm, maybe then our rival will wish that suarez did not get banned afterall. hehe wishful thinking maybe but anything can happen in football. QUOTE(weichieh007) It doesn't cause them any harm to be able to keep hold of their important players isn't it? Just saying.. Yup if the player does not sulk or refuse to play like the case of Mascherano (allegedly) and Tevez.

We were able to keep Gerrard in 2005 because we're doing brilliantly at Europe. Can you imagine what would happen if he does don the blue jersey back then?

Podolski not as slick as Suarez or a Aguero type of player...his passing not his biggest asset..but his shooting power and accuracy is what terrify the opponents...and he also quite good at one-two short pass...and he is fast..fast enough to play in EPL... always follow him Koln-Bayern Munich-Koln..hehehehe...hmm he is good..dont expect him to be like Kuyt...he quite a different player...

QUOTE(Petre @ Dec 28 2011, 03:52 PM) our conversion rate is way too low. this is the reality, no matter how optimistic we should be, we cannot be delusional On the flip side, we're playing very attractive football. Even though we're not getting results, I always look forward to our next game. Like a lot of us agreed, the only missing puzzle in the team right is a goal poacher.

QUOTE(Petre @ Dec 28 2011, 03:52 PM) our conversion rate is way too low. this is the reality, no matter how optimistic we should be, we cannot be delusional Our conversation rate is indeed low. It's about 8% the lowest in the league. Being delusional would suggest being optimistic without any reason. Think I've stated many reasons to be optimistic. What are your thoughts on this? How would you address the issue of having hit the post 17 times and coming up against inspired goalkeepers? With what we have at our disposal of course. At this rate. Do you guys really think that we are going to be able reach our target (top 4)? IMHO the top 2 definitely going to be the Manchester clubs. Then come tottenham for third place. Then that leave one more place between us, Chelsea and arsenal.
Realisticly do you guys think we can overtake them with our current squad? 8% conversion rate? 4 out of 5 missed penalty? 20+ corner and not even a conversion?
The only consolation is that the defense with skrtel and aggar looks super solid. No disrespect to carra.
I'm not sure bout you guys. From what I notice during the match so far. I found out that Adam and carroll is super lazy. They don't track back. Carroll ok I give face. He is a centre forward after all. But Adam is just not doing his job. There are some occasional xabi like passes. What else did he contribute? Passed two matches. One missed penalty? One own goal? Even during the chelsea match where he made 2 assist which we won 2-1. I remembered that it was his laziness to track back that causes Chelsea to equalized. We loaned out Aquaman and sold meireles because of him? Give me a break. During Liverpool tour in Bukit jalil, I told my gf to take notice of Aquaman. Indeed he didn't disappoint me. Great passing and his ability to open up defense is priceless.
Lastly. We definately need a goal poacher. I would welcome back Torres with a big smile anytime.
Just my 2 cent

Our team does pass better these days. I'm very happy with our current back four, very solid and 2 fullbacks that capable of opening up opponent defense. Midfield, I have stated way earlier that is our weak link. Even though I can see the improvement of us making passes and holding possession, we lack the penetration when lesser teams are sitting back & defending deep at Anfield. Most often, chances are created by Suarez when he's dropping slightly deeper, linking up some passes and clever movements. None of our current midfielders can do these.(apart from Stevie G) Downing is under-perform IMO. Well, at least the team spirit and attitude is there, which is the most important. I know it's been said a lot of times, but still we'll get better in times.

QUOTE(DayahKuComeL @ Dec 28 2011, 04:14 AM) Adam was superb rite when he was captaining blackpool?Isnt that's why we wanted him? But is he reproducing that form here? What people fail to realise is he was only superb in the first half of last season. The second half ,he captained his side to relegation. Many fans were bigging him up as the scottish alonso. He's no where near alonso.

Just my 2 cent the biggest difference is to see the gerrard vision and adam vision..how many world class passes and crosses produced by gerrard .. i think adam should be rest for 1-2 matches since gerrard is back now . He missed a penalty last week and scored an own goal this week.
