QUOTE(ahmar @ Dec 29 2011, 02:57 AM)
I think we shouldn't rely on one player as the pivotal point of our attack. But no doubt if Carroll plays without Suarez he will get more passes compared when Suarez plays. Saying that, the team shouldn't (for pete's sake no) keep pumping the ball up to Carroll.

However I am sure everyone is hoping that Carroll can step up. Well he should. He has got one of the best teams behind him.

Carroll, if you can here me, the cake is within your reach. Get up from your sofa and chase it. Please, please, please.  laugh.gif

i still remember when he score against everton... the celebration and happiness feeling is different compare to maxi/kuyt/gerrard when they are scoring goals rolleyes.gif

At least this Friday we will get a glimpse of life without Suarez. I reckon Carroll will be played upfront with Gerrard deployed behind him. Who knows if this combination could get our big number 9 scoring.

Plus, we would keep Suarez fresh for the City games in January.

that is one yummy prospect. If gerrard can provide better crosses and assist than our current winger, then I can see Carroll9 start scoring goals.

QUOTE(solstice818)

Just another good rest for Suarez while he can get ready for City match. Couldn't be better. I actually dont bother about that given that he had been poor, exhausted in recent games. Time for Bellamy, Maxi, Carrol to prove their worth.
You're probably right there. Maybe non stop football has affected little bit of his ability to convert chances. Anyway, without Suarez we will have a less trickery side. Don't know if it is good or bad but our opponent have to deal with different type of players. Well let them worry about that thumbup.gif

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Dec 28 2011, 04:10 PM)
Our conversation rate is indeed low. It's about 8% the lowest in the league. Being delusional would suggest being optimistic without any reason. Think I've stated many reasons to be optimistic.

What are your thoughts on this? How would you address the issue of having hit the post 17 times and coming up against inspired goalkeepers? With what we have at our disposal of course.
i guess luck aside, coming up against inspired goal keepers seem to be a regular story nowadays. the more we allow goal keepers the ticket to switch into god mode, the more teams will come up against us with confidence. if for example we have been scoring at least all those 17, at least we got the fear factor that will affect opponent's confidence rather than fueling it.

one of the factor contributing to our low scoring was the lack of maxi time. he did well coming on in a few games, we failed to start him when he was on form. i got the feeling his form is slowly going away now. but just my own feeling. pity that we only start play him more regularly when this is happening

its timely suarez get some rest. and january is here. but i guess we have to wait at least a couple of weeks before seeing new players come in (or go)

The group of people who chaired English FA are all money grubbing son of the b****. They banned Suarez and fined Liverpool for middle finger, yet Fulham is neither fined nor warned for their fans' malicious chants at Suarez? - To English Fools Association

i just hope Suarez learn his lesson, his temper needs to tone down.. take it as for shit happens, bad luck and move on. This ban i think would help liverpool to find something else instead of heavily relying on Suarez for creating opportunity. Suarez did all the hard work twist turning to get past defender and now asking him to score, i think we're asking too much from him. Liverpool should really buy someone in the Jan transfer window to help out Suarez..

Suarez + Maxi + Bellamy was a good combination, i just hope i can see more of this but oh wells..

I think i will put my hands up and say i was wrong on maxi.I have to apologise for being too critical of him before this.
He has been fantastic in kenny's set up.I guess it's rafa and roy's style of play resulted in him being ninjalike laugh.gif

Now moving on to the next target is downing.0goals 0 assists brows.gif

The same reason why Rooney is Rooney and no one is telling him to check his expletives on field.

Bellamy Is a fiery character, they all know their limits, sure there are times things may get above the neck. I would never ask any player never to display any less then what they are capable off.

Maybe it's a typical Latin players. There were comments on other forum where our previous marcherano got sent off for complaining to the ref for all the constant high fouls and not protecting one of ours.

I can't imagine a subdued suarez.

We'll cope (without Suarez) hopefully quickly. I don't think anyone out there who could come in to Liverpool during January & help our scoring without some serious bedding in. As much as the high regard of even suarez, his stats on scoring isn't impressive as we would like it to be.

Sadly only 2 names comes to mind and both ex liv. Owen and torres. And both have moved on with their respective teams.

Some say we play too high up till all the defenders mark out our players, duh, even under rafa reign when we scored a all time high in a season, we played high up, and constantly pressing game.

It's about right gerrard is back, we sorely miss his guild. Maybe we still could coax his aging legs a little more. His brief sub time during blackburn's game only illustrates lfc lacks a real class act.
