Finally, I managed to join as a regular for some table tennis games at a Chinese school in Taman Desa. There are some really good players there.

QUOTE(Richard114 @ Nov 26 2014, 04:33 PM) I don't know people in the club. Whether they want to play with you or not depends on your PR skills. I went to PJ Union and talked to the boss (you can check my earlier posting on fees and charges), he said it is best to bring someone along. So, are you keen? |

QUOTE(kuntilanak @ Dec 2 2014, 01:16 PM) play for fun only, then you need sparring partner... when do you plan to go? I can only go there on Friday evening... What time are you going this Friday? Can I be your sparring partner? If we can be regular, I like to join their regular session.Me no title also, just a little more practice and I can be very consistent with my shots. |

QUOTE(Vk21 @ Dec 5 2014, 03:51 PM) Hi, I browse the thread a bit but can't find: You can inquire at PJ Union Table TennisAny coaching/course around PJ/Damansara? For casual, need to polish strokes, serve, all other techs. |

QUOTE(ufaiq @ Feb 6 2015, 11:08 AM) Hi, I also recently developed the interest to play TT seriously and in the market to look for a serious blade that is suited to my budget and playing style. After doing extensive research I discovered that there are two varieties of blade, it's either 5 or 7 plies. On top of that, there's the traditional all wood plies or the current wood and carbon combo. Let's not looking into the number of plies 5 or 7. In general, there are 3 types of blades if you are not using the pimple rubble (shakehand or penhold); Defensive blade, All round blade and Offensive blade. I have 3 of them. I have decided to actually settle for a Stiga Carbo 7.6 which is a combo blade. I hope we could perhaps continue this discussion further and I am happy to give my opinion on the matter. Defensive blade - The re-bounce from the blade is slower and better absorb the power when your opponent is creating forehand spin. All round blade - This is a balance blade between offensive and defensive. Slightly harder than defensive blade but softer than offensive blade. Offensive blade - The is a very fast blade and it is also very hard. Hard blades generally cannot generate huge amount of spin. But the power it generates is tremendous. Of course, this blade is not good in absorbing the power from your opponent. Also, there are also All wood blades, carbon blades, composite carbon blades and etc. Carbon blades are generally more expensive but most expensive of all is the all wood Hinoki blade. You can read here about choosing your blades. http://www.allabouttabletennis.com/table-tennis-blade.html I have YinHe V13 which is an AllRound blade and YinHe V2, an Offensive+ blade. QUOTE(Steven_aka_G @ Feb 12 2015, 10:03 AM) Not exactly accurate. Offensive blades are harder for beginners to produce good spin. Same goes with absorbing power. It's all about your own hand controlling the blade. Agreed. Suitable for experts but not for beginners. But once the beginner gradually progresses, they will be more capable to use their own hand with acquired skills to better control the Offensive blade. |
