Better still.. But double price... Longines legend diver or if double up again .. Tudor Pelagos tongue.gif

Legend diver is a league of its own. the hydroconquest, at the end of the day is a sub homage at best.

Maybe I'm old fashion or even misguided but can't really understand this whole homage thing (some design cues are alright la). unsure.gif It's like marrying a girl just because she looks like the girl you always had a crush on but out of league. It's just not right  doh.gif
So the natural progression.... thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
pardon me, I don't agree with this analogy.

Agree but would't go as far as saying that the Hydroconquest is a sub homage. Yeah it follows the same diver formula, there's not much if any Longines DNA in it but it does look different enough for it to be not mistaken as a sub AND competitively priced tongue.gif

It's just my opinion but lets discuss why.

no la, not that bad.
but for around rm1k got plenty other choices also...for classic looking diver...probably look at the orients or seiko skx007?
*
due to Im having a big project going on that cost a lot of money but at the same time my hand is itchy to get another toy.. so basically a budget 1 will do.. n seem like orient ray is quite a good choice if i can get 1 at around RM400.. a classic look diver

True that... full respect to those mods, project watches homages but that's more because of the time, tinkering and "sentiment" put into them.

But for others, why not appreciate them for their own qualities instead. More fulfilling relationship like that. biggrin.gif

I have the green one and the strap is looking worse for wear. I wanna change it to NATO. Where did you get yours, and how much was it? Thanks~! Thinking of getting some off eBay and DIY but I don't have the tools.

I agree its different enough to be not mistaken, but as you've said it follows the same diver formula which, IMO, if you want the real deal, buy the real deal and not a cheaper alternative. The Longines Hydroconquest for example, snowflake/diamond hour hand.. doesn't it remind of a certain Submariner? The Tudor Submariner. Its as though its pieced together with elements copied from all over.

Legend Diver, that's original.

Diver watch which I consider an alternative, instead of trying to look like a Sub would be pieces like Oris TT1 Diver, its NOTHING like a Sub. Or Ball Engineer Master II Diver. The Panerais are very original, and of course you have the grandaddy, the Fifty Fathoms. drool.gif

Well.. Agree on the rojak tongue.gif part hence the no "longines dna".

Having said that, its affordable and budget wise its not too far off from the Certina that initiated this discussion.
Size wise it should fit a 6.25" wrist better than the Oris. smile.gif

The Oris TT1 actually doesn't wear that big because the case tapers. I tried it on once and it felt weird to me (the taper). Didn't seem that big while worn.

The Hydroconquest is a 41mm? The Oris TT1, although 44mm, wears even less due to the case.

Tho I think Hydroconquest, is more versatile (like a Submariner), the TT1 feels rugged.

You know what.. I was quoted NTD13000 (which is ~RM1300) for a Japanese 6R15 diver too. tongue.gif

And its made in a country whereby their Navy stealth ship don't spontaneously combust laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

no la, PO wannabe cos of the bezel and hour markers.
the new SMP is with a PO bezel anyway tongue.gif

the brietling is nice, but at that price the tudor black bay is more tempting.
plus the brietling i've never seen the full range of the superocean here.
