Some website have listed well the spec, manual winding or no manual winding, hack-able or unhackable. If its can wind and hack, it something like a ETA movement. A black monster with 7S26 movement i got it RM680 a year ago.. so i dont think it is quite a good bargain..

that orient star? the leather strap one is rm5.2k retail...so somewhere around rm4k after discount. completely mechanical, but not as thin as i expected... dunno who would want it either since orient market here very small...maybe price will slowly drop
if it drop below 2k.. i will buy it without thinking.. but with 5.2k?.. i will go for swiss made..
I think the steel bracelet retails at 5.5k Should be below 4k after discount. Quite light.
Hopefully it does drop as it's priced 2k higher than any other Orient Star around. But resellers are saying it's limited edition, so i doubt it'll go down.
@jackiewong Same for me. Went to check it out with 2k in hand. Was hoping to bring it home. Was shock when the retail price was 5.5k

most seikos / orients are pretty decent out of the box. even my seiko monster and old orient mako was +4 s / day...which for rm500-700+ watches...whats there to complain?
Anyone has comment on the Certina DS Action Diver (Ref.: C013.407.11.051.00)? certina Look nice neh.. i think the black 1 is sexist than the titanium version.. maybe cause i prefer black than grey color..
Longines is higher than certina in everyone's eyes.. Most will agree higher than oris as well.
1k premium to certina is acceptable I guess.. I think hydro conquest is their cheaper range..
39mm is around 2.5k which i think a little too small as i think my wrist handle my black monster quite well.. the 41mm is the 1 with RM1k more expensive than certina.. actually i dunno my 6.25' wrist can handle the certina anot..
certina really that bad?.. .. actually im looking for something quite a sub alike but not that sub-ish.. a classic and simple diver will do.. wearing my seiko BM for more than a year and now my hand is itchy to look for another watch.. we all have the same symptom for this hobby i believe

Maybe I'm old fashion or even misguided but can't really understand this whole homage thing (some design cues are alright la). It's like marrying a girl just because she looks like the girl you always had a crush on but out of league. It's just not right So the natural progression....
a piece that hardly to find and it might be too big for my wrist..

no la, not that bad. but for around rm1k got plenty other choices also...for classic looking diver...probably look at the orients or seiko skx007?
due to Im having a big project going on that cost a lot of money but at the same time my hand is itchy to get another toy.. so basically a budget 1 will do.. n seem like orient ray is quite a good choice if i can get 1 at around RM400.. a classic look diver

Hydroconquest if remember correctly got 39mm and 41mm.
yes.. got 2 sizes.. 39mm roughly 2.5k+ and 41mm 3.2k+ if im not mistaken.. damn it.. seem like quite difficult to get a rather cheap watch to play with.. my hands are so itchy now!
sure i wanted to buy something before new year.. but dunno which to buy .. and i think my budget will be lower than RM600.. and i'm actually eye-ing the orient ray (it should be lower than RM500) and if only im lucky to get a seiko 007 below RM600 .. help me!.. dilemma ~
how bout a monster of a dive watch? thickass thing at around 17-18mm. i *think* this is an indonesian brand...but its using a jap movement...rm1.3k retail...orangey lume. its actually pretty well made, water resistant leather strap also...but again damn damn damn thick case...reminds me of the vostoks also around the same price.
haha... i cannot imagine with such a monster on my 6.25' wrist ..bro.. my budget now lower than RM600 la.. haha.. cannot spend too much on watch.. big project going on
