A bit of a dilemma here. I've got this mid-90's Tag 1500 series which is worth nothing now but except sentimental value (it was my high school graduation present and the watch I worn during my pak-toh years with my wife).

Haven't touched it for years but just went for a battery change and service... and gatal asked them if can fix the bezel which rotates smoothly now (no more click). The sifu says have to change the bezel.

Haven't got a quote yet but should I fix it?

the sifu says must change the bezel? its not cracked or anything right?
u should try to pry the bezel away and see if anything is missing or worn out.
the click can be caused by anything from some wire to some spring loaded thingie with a sphere on it...
who knows hes trying to cheat u since a ori bezel is not cheap...plus i didnt know still can get stock for a mid-90s tag.

Visually there's no issue just that it don't click anymore and turns both ways (supposed to be uni-direction).

He did say that he's not sure if can still get parts and he's just supposed to service it only. Didn't confirm with him to change anything except battery.

So I should get a 2nd opinion on the bezel?

If HAVE to change to make it click again... should I?

Why don't you send the watch to LVMH Tag Heuer Service Center at Central Plaza? They can examine the watch make an evaluation, check the parts availability and give you a quote.
Had the end link and crown changed on my 20 year old Tag earlier this year. Check my previous post in this thread.

Hi all sifus. What are your guys opinion on the Zenith captain power reserve and moon phase models. Tried looking online for reviews but they were limited. How much are their prices and discounts? Really nice dress watch in my opinion. Any opinions ? Or would you guys get something else for that price?

I'll pass this one unless the price is attractive enough.  Are you selling Ball watches?
*
@ littleBeettle
That Ball Engineer Master II is priced at ~12K, far from his 5K budget... unless its 5K in USD or GBP or EUR or AUD or CAD?

@ starwalk2002
U looking at ~RM5k?? or some other currency?

Thanks patryn. Since you own an elite movement, what are your personal thoughts on it in terms of quality, durability and accuracy? I'm keen on getting a watch similar to the captain moon phase with a leather strap. With a budget of 20k, should I go for it or are there any other watches in that range you would recommend with the similar characteristics as the captain moonphase/ power reserve?

just now i looked at some RM10-15 ultra cheap watches, kinda amazed that the second hand hits the minute markers perfectly...unlike others that cost 10-100 times as much tongue.gif

Elite is a well made movement, quality/durability/accuracy are about as as good as Big 'R'

for half the cost can get nomos Tangente Datum Gangreserve, I feel nomos decorate their movement better than Zenith.

or these
- Jaeger LeCoultre Master Reserve De Marche
- Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 King Size One
- Dornblueth & Sohn Calibre 99.2
- Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Double Retrograde
- Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Phase de Lune
- Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Lune Retrograde (both pwr res and moonphase)

Thanks for all the recommendations. I find the JLC reserve de marche too small for my liking. However, I stumbled upon the JLC master calendar and it was love at first sight wub.gif how much can I get one of this for after discount? Is it possible below 25k?

it retails ~35k, not sure can get below 25k. discount of jlc varies from series to series. maybe ~28k is my guess.
