just like 90% of the people who wear aviator watches cant fly a plane for nuts, or 90% who wear military inspired watches have never been to war.
to each their own.

For a daily watch, I think it's hard to beat the versatility of the diver.
It will hardly ever look out of place no matter the outfit or activity. Basically, anything short of an Apollo flight to the moon, the diver will have no problems.
For many people, I'm guessing that one robust diver will probably suffice for most of their lives.

Seawater can be a pretty scary thing for your average brand of steel (even stainless). It's good to know that if you ever decide to do a beach vacation, your diver's watch material and screw-down crown will provide sufficient corrosion protection inside and outside of the watch.

Lastly, it's the 21st century - most seasoned divers don't leave shore without a proper divecom anyway.
Since getting the Suunto, my diver mostly sits in the room during dives now.
Still good for snorkeling or a splash in the pool though wink.gif

Would be nice if you could provide the link to where you found the watch in the future.
<LINK>

Too expensive for a plain quartz watch. Could get a Seiko Quartz Chronograph for less.

Sorry, I just google the pic because the original pic from the site which I plan to buy from doesn't portray the watch nicely.

I'm actually getting it for US$125 from creationwatches.com

Is this price tag justifiable then?

My personal opinion. No.
In the end, it all depends on your tastes.
Here's a link to all the watches available for less than USD 150.

You can get a nice solar powered quartz or automatic watches for less.

Hi,

My budget is below RM700.
So I only have Seiko, Casio and Police within my budget.

Seiko
Why are all the Seiko watches <700 has a small face?
I have big hands and big arms.
I would like the case to be min. 40mm.

Upon doing my research, the watch that I like SKA475;

the case diameter is 42mm which is the same as my favorite;

How come the Tissot looks so much bigger?
But their case diameter according to their websites are around the same?

And the sales lady said everything is made in Japan.
Is this true?

Police
I dont know the model number but it is black with a black face and orange dial.
Pretty cool. It costs RM500++.
I really like their designs but their brand is suspectible.

The lady said it's an American brand but uses Japanese mechanicals.
So she said it's on par with Seiko.

Casio
I like them because of their case size but I cant find anything below RM700 that has a clean simple face.
All their models are messy.
I do like a few of them though which are also around RM500++.
Big face.

The lady said inside is all from Japan but the case is from China.

Cerrutti 1888
Their design looks like they cost a few grand but they are all below RM1k.
I really dont mind topping up for this kind of designs.

However how is this brand?
The lady said everything is made in Switzerland.

So if I am going to spend RM500-700 and if I look at it at quality wise and longetivity, which brand would be the best?
Design - Seiko
Size - Casio
Brand - ??
Quality - ??

Thanks

Greetings,

Guess after reading few pages, I got the idea on how to choose watch but still, I'm not that good in deciding things.

Hope you suggest suitable brand,type based on this list;

Budget ; < RM 500
I'm a student.

Movement; Non-quartz
Really need a winding-type watch. I do remember how hard it is when in semester exam, the watch dead.

From what I learn, mostly Casio and Citizen fit in this area. Any other?

Thank you.

Try seiko 5, I think the cheapest you can get for self winding type
