Is it? Last time I checked Speedy prices (last year I think), they were higher in SG.
So far, the only place that I found watches to be cheaper than in MY is in Bangkok (or in Siam Paragon to be exact ).

The Submariner 14060 was about RM2-3k cheaper when I was there. Omegas were about the same, give or take a few hundred RM.
Also saw a Lange going for about RM20k, was shocked as I didn't know their entry level was actually quite achievable one
All prices are boutique prices btw.

Next purchase will likely be a used/vintage Sub or Mark, if the price is right. But not so soon la. Scuba can be a very expensive sport

Both the new Portofino and Mark XVI in leather are going for RM13k before discount. Expect it to be around RM11k after standard boutique discount (10-15%).

Not sure about the portofino vintage or the pilot chrono I'm afraid, but I'm pretty sure they'll cost much more than RM13k. The portuguese chrono is RM23k sticker price, so you might be looking at something in that region.

Was at Omega Star Hill just now, they were having an event of some sort. Saw the new blue Bond, looks really weird without the wave pattern on the dial. Now it looks like just any other generic diver...

You can find Mitch & Marc boxes in Metrojaya (saw in MV) and Tangs (Pavilion). Not cheap though.

As the date mechanism is at work during that time period, it is best to let it do it's thing by itself instead of manually adjusting the date.

You can do it if the time is 12 noon, but as there's usually no way of telling whether the time is 12AM or PM on an analog watch, best to play it safe and just avoid tinkering with the date mechanism during this period.

If you must, forward the time past this time window (I normally go past 4) and then adjust the date.

That's one way of putting it. I will normally put the date to 1 day before, then adjust the time forward to the correct date. That way, there'll be no AM/PM confusion.
Of course these days, I don't bother with the date complication anymore...

Truth be told, I don't really care if I'm attended to when I first step in or not.
I always find it to be a major annoyance when I'm browsing through their selection and they insist on standing beside me and trying to make small talk.
But I also have a habit of putting my hands behind my back when browsing haha. They can only see the clasp

Well considering that most of the time when I glance at my watch to tell the time, I don't spend more than 2 seconds looking at it, so the ticking seconds hand of a quartz really don't bother me.
The exception are Swatch watches, which are terribly loud. Used to stress me out to no end when I was sitting for my exams in school haha.

Of course there are also the times when I've got nothing better to do and I just look and listen to my automatics

I use a Bergeon 6767F spring bar tool when swapping out my straps. One end is good for my Omegas, the other end for the Sub

None of the 2 designs speak to me, so I gotta go with none of the above. Must be the awkward location of the date counter - I really hate watches that position their date counters as such (but that's just me la).

But as with all watch recommendations, I think first and foremost, go put it on and see how it looks on you. A lot of the details in a watch you don't know until you physically handle it. If you have narrowed it down to only these 2, then I think you'll have your answer as soon as you put it on

I'm guessing that is the blue quartz Bond? I think sticker price should still be under RM7k, but not sure about the discounts on offer.
Don't reckon it to be cheaper in Singapore if comparing AD to AD price.

I thought it was a real pity that they didn't incorporate the vintage style applied logo and Speedmaster font into the dial. Sapphire crystal is also a little disappointing. But thoroughly delicious watch otherwise. No crown guards!
