QUOTE(MeToo @ Nov 19 2011, 11:48 AM) LOL the first 3 post got absolutely nothing to do with the thread... heck not even regular thread poster to start with On topic, getting annoyed that despite Msia supposedly to be tax free for watches, I'm still getting cheaper prices down in Singapore! Is it? Last time I checked Speedy prices (last year I think), they were higher in SG. So far, the only place that I found watches to be cheaper than in MY is in Bangkok (or in Siam Paragon to be exact ).

QUOTE(OhNooy @ Nov 20 2011, 12:30 AM) May I know which watch you are referring? I'm went there and yet I don't see the "cheaper than MY" word there. The Submariner 14060 was about RM2-3k cheaper when I was there. Omegas were about the same, give or take a few hundred RM. Also saw a Lange going for about RM20k, was shocked as I didn't know their entry level was actually quite achievable one All prices are boutique prices btw.

Went away from LYN for the long weekend and I missed out on all the action?? Anyway, TLDRs aside, year-end holiday season just around the corner, anyone expecting any big purchases soon? Time to start spreading some poison perhaps

QUOTE(hanz079 @ Nov 29 2011, 10:49 AM) Year end coming. Yes... which means bonus time... which means that it's time for a splurge!!! lol No poison necessary as target is already on the crosshair.... waiting for the bullets and then trigger can be pulled. Just hope no straying away from the original intent though. Once bullets are here, targets seems to increase... funny how the world works. Totally know what you mean though. Brought a friend to go scouting for MLs in the 6k region, ended up eyeing something in the 8-9k instead! QUOTE OK lah... let's talk about something else... since year end is coming and bonus time is awfully near. I am sure most if not all have purchases lined up right? Come share la. I just picked up my Mark XVI last month so gonna take a break from any new purchases for awhile Next purchase will likely be a used/vintage Sub or Mark, if the price is right. But not so soon la. Scuba can be a very expensive sport

QUOTE(ck77 @ Nov 29 2011, 02:22 PM) Nice catch bro Mark16 is cool. New or used? Share some pictures. Haha thanks. Got it new. Love the matte dial and the AR coating BB pics don't do it any justice so I'll try to take some proper pics of the enlarged collection one of these days. All my watches seem to be getting smaller - from my first 42mm Carrera (big and thick 7750!) to the latest 39mm Mark d3vilzzzz, Both the new Portofino and Mark XVI in leather are going for RM13k before discount. Expect it to be around RM11k after standard boutique discount (10-15%).

I would love to have a Reverso in the collection too, but I put it on once and it looked way too weird on my wrist

d3vilzzzz, Not sure about the portofino vintage or the pilot chrono I'm afraid, but I'm pretty sure they'll cost much more than RM13k. The portuguese chrono is RM23k sticker price, so you might be looking at something in that region. Better buy or not, that is a question for both your heart and your wrist Sub's my grail so I'm naturally biased haha.

Was at Omega Star Hill just now, they were having an event of some sort. Saw the new blue Bond, looks really weird without the wave pattern on the dial. Now it looks like just any other generic diver... Also popped by Van Cleef & Arpels next next door. Saw the Pont des Amoureux at last - RM660k! Probably should start saving soon... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by Chinoz: Dec 2 2011, 09:37 PM

QUOTE(Hearts @ Dec 6 2011, 12:58 AM) Hi guys, any idea where I can get a watch box? I'm finding a box to fit 4 watches thanks in advance! You can find Mitch & Marc boxes in Metrojaya (saw in MV) and Tangs (Pavilion). Not cheap though. I got my generic unbranded one from Hang Thai (SS2).

You sit beside me in the cinema with that sort of lume, I'm gonna go FUUUUU QUOTE(fluffy6640 @ Dec 6 2011, 10:55 AM) after searching high and low, for a military watch, i think the Laco Marine Luminous (miyota movement) would suit my budget and thirst for one. ruled out the steinhart, as i've got the russion aviator. but is the Miyota auto movement something to be happy with? not much info i could find on it. good work horse? cos that would be just fine for me pics from WUS for eyecandy. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE(spicediablo @ Dec 30 2011, 08:31 AM) ^How will it damage the mechanical watch if we adjust between that time? Sorry noob here.. As the date mechanism is at work during that time period, it is best to let it do it's thing by itself instead of manually adjusting the date. You can do it if the time is 12 noon, but as there's usually no way of telling whether the time is 12AM or PM on an analog watch, best to play it safe and just avoid tinkering with the date mechanism during this period. If you must, forward the time past this time window (I normally go past 4) and then adjust the date.

QUOTE(spicediablo @ Dec 30 2011, 10:14 AM) ^ So basically, I have to change the time to 4 then change the date then change it back to correct time... That's one way of putting it. I will normally put the date to 1 day before, then adjust the time forward to the correct date. That way, there'll be no AM/PM confusion. Of course these days, I don't bother with the date complication anymore...

QUOTE(RyanHo @ Jan 8 2012, 03:59 AM) the same thing happens when my dad wearing AP and im wearing tag. i came in first. but the salesperson served him. they didnt know he's my dad. Truth be told, I don't really care if I'm attended to when I first step in or not. I always find it to be a major annoyance when I'm browsing through their selection and they insist on standing beside me and trying to make small talk. But I also have a habit of putting my hands behind my back when browsing haha. They can only see the clasp

QUOTE(jeremy_yee @ Jan 12 2012, 08:16 PM) Seiko chrono with tachymeter less than 1k, quartz. After owning 2 automatics, don't think I can stand looking at hands that tick. Anyone feels the same? Well considering that most of the time when I glance at my watch to tell the time, I don't spend more than 2 seconds looking at it, so the ticking seconds hand of a quartz really don't bother me. The exception are Swatch watches, which are terribly loud. Used to stress me out to no end when I was sitting for my exams in school haha. Of course there are also the times when I've got nothing better to do and I just look and listen to my automatics

QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Feb 27 2012, 02:21 PM) Guys, if you were me, which one would you choose between these two: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Both of them are leading in my shortlist. I just cant decide which one to pick. If you guys give me some input, I might be able to choose. . I like both of them. It's just the price of Tag is higher than Tissot but still within in my budget. thanks! None of the 2 designs speak to me, so I gotta go with none of the above. Must be the awkward location of the date counter - I really hate watches that position their date counters as such (but that's just me la). But as with all watch recommendations, I think first and foremost, go put it on and see how it looks on you. A lot of the details in a watch you don't know until you physically handle it. If you have narrowed it down to only these 2, then I think you'll have your answer as soon as you put it on

QUOTE(RedudantL @ Mar 7 2012, 08:45 AM) Hi could anyone let me know the current price in Malaysia for omega 22218000 model? Also are Omega watches more cheaper to be bought in Singapore? Thanks! I'm guessing that is the blue quartz Bond? I think sticker price should still be under RM7k, but not sure about the discounts on offer. Don't reckon it to be cheaper in Singapore if comparing AD to AD price. Baselworld 2012 is this weekend! Wonder what new surprises await us This post has been edited by Chinoz: Mar 7 2012, 09:58 AM
