I have been using sharp cheaper air purifier (FPF30LA) around 1 year, to test if my itchy nose symptom will reduce when sleeping, now no more itchy so I think air purifier works quite well.
Last week saw Samsung air purifier (AX50K5050WD) got promotion so I bought it to replace Sharp's, it is bigger, has deodorization filter, and some sensor/touch screen to play with, as soon as i turn it on, the PM2.5 reading is 10, guess my room is too clean from using Sharp air purifier lol |

im using HAP40 , my advice is avoid khind at all cost even they are cheap
1) Khind as a corporate selling its product but didn't fulfill the responsibility to ensure the demand for parts and replacement. always out of stock 2) Khind failed to provides access to the customer as getting a replacement parts/filter is so difficult; don't even put the filter replacement in their estore, they rarely have third party dealer for the filter also. need to bank in then email the receipt then they courier to you, like 90's Era. QUOTE(ozak @ Aug 21 2018, 08:45 AM) 1) You need to seal off the door and window complete. I was searching for a ventilation fan solution to suck outside air in, with PM2.5 filter in the past but not avail.2) Find a ventilation fan that blow in instead blow out. With Filter. To create a positive pressure so the dust not sucking in. 3) Air filter if neccessary. Until today, I discovered Xiaomi is selling the exact product that I wanted. Xiaomi Fresh Air Ventilator https://www.mi.com/fresh-air-ventilator/ The outside air can be extracted through wall or window. https://www.mi.com/fresh-air-ventilator/notes/ |

I think airgard have such system. In the west or Japan, they use centralize system which install on top ceiling. The system have suck and blow for each room. |

Actually not so keen on such xiaomi air purifier.Maybe google translator can help. It is like another massive device on the wall that take up the place. Have to put each unit on every room. 1 unit can't tackle for the whole house. Specially double storey. Such device are mainly for room rather hall or dinning area. We always open the door for such area. While room is close (if aircon). Still prefer centralize unit which hide ontop. Probably cost around 3.5k. Or DIY. Not a difficult machine. |

Btw not cheap weh, 2500rmb. |

QUOTE(yushin @ Mar 15 2019, 12:28 PM) Looking at the description of the xiaomi air exchanger, seems like its design for high rise building in China? There is no specific for high rise. It can be use on any building and house. Even in Japan, I see such air exchanger in 2storey house. But why they need it since Japan don't have air pollution. Double story house in Malaysia has many holes for air ventilation already. Btw not cheap weh, 2500rmb. Such a system is for close house in winter or extremely hot summer. They cannot open the window or door to let the hot/cold air out. Such a system is needed. It is same function as air cleaner in local we use. But instead recycle the internal air, this unit suck in fresh air with filter out. For aircon room which it seal out, exchanger air is better. It also create + pressure instead exhaust out - pressure. (Which will suck in dust) I don't really like this unit as it look crowded in my small home. |

For those aircond with built-in ion/plasma (eg nanoe for Panasonic, PlasmaCluster for Sharp), these also can work as air purifier?
Any recommended for stand-alone air purifier? (the haze back again!) |
