Can I apply PR for my wife and kids if they are still in Malaysia?
*
if we say no, u will never apply? laugh.gif laugh.gif
in my opinion, just try...all you waste is the cost for photostating all the documents and probably one day leave for the appointment to submit the documents.

I bought my place 3 months ago, renovations started in Nov, completing in 2 days' time.

I got a good deal for my place, i paid 300k (incl. COV) for a 3 room HDB in Commonwealth, 8 mins walk from MRT.

The downside, small. sad.gif

My budget is around SGD400K to buy HDB so which area I should look at?
*
i think u should not find ur permanent place to stay like tat.
u should be more concerned on travelling time to places where u go often (work, activites, etc)

Some Malaysians want to settle down in Singapore.

Some middle class Singaporeans envy Malaysia for relative cheap housing (not comparing to KL), cars, food, living expenses and want to move to Malaysia.

It's like pasture is greener at the other side.

we see sg better on amenities, safety, development and lastly the exchange rate. laugh.gif laugh.gif
sg ppl sees m'sia better due to the lower costs (based on their earnings/savings from S$) and more freedom.

*
Unless you buy properties with cash, they can simply pull ur financial record and they will know.
That is why, they give you 6 months to sell off....that also you need to show them proof of sale.

just sharing a recent case my fren did, the hdb officer tell my fren they cant check
secondly thats why they need the proof of sales, cause they cant check
is a risk and is your choice, i am not encouraging other to follow  rolleyes.gif
future how they want to do it, nobody know  sweat.gif
*
yes, u cannot check as of now whether u hold any properties or not IF you have finished paying ur loan.
but if u are still paying ur loan, obviously u still own that property right?
proof of sales is to show that u have disposed off your property, more for those who declared having property and have to sell it off within 6 months.
yes...u can go ahead and risk it at ur own choice.

Don't be naive la, if you didn't spent your time in Big4 MY, I don't think Big 4 SG will look on you.
And If you don't work in Big 4, will Dow look on you?
*
seriously, i really dun understand the financial sector.
what is the craze of getting into the big4 a must?
yes, sure it glorifies your resume, but still...u won't die if u nvr went in.
reusing a phrase someone mentioned before....u want to be one of the small fish in a very big pond or the big fish in a small pond
so does it mean every IT grad must get into google...game testers must go blizzard?

with your budget on food @ $300/month for 2+2. It means 1 person only spent $2.5/day
*
let me teach u some simple math and reading which you clearly need if you are going to continue in the financial sector.

Tingkat (dinner catering) is a good option for my family since my wife will be working. Dinner delivered to your home on weekdays will be around $300-350 per month (for 2 adults and 2 kids).
*

It is dinner on weekdays only.
So it is not 2.5/day
Catering service is meant for the working parents in the family who wish to provide their kids with a much balanced diet at a lower cost.
So if you can get full with $3.70 on economy rice, why not >$10 from catering for 2 adults and 2 children?

Just want to know. Is it possible to request for a higher salary if you are not entitled for CPF? The reason why i ask this is because there is no chance of me getting a PR anymore since I denouced my PR because i did not want to do national service. I just want to know since this is the case, is it possible for me to request my employer for a higher salary since i know that for singaporeans the CPF that is given is normally 16%
*
some employers pay their contribution towards cpf into the employee's salary if the employee is not singaporean or pr.
whether u are in high regards from the employer's perspective to be entitled for that "benefit" is another matter.

The total agent fee is actually 1 month rental. usually half bear by tenant, half bear by landlord.
*
Actually, depends on the lease duration.
half month for 1 year lease
1 month for 2 years lease

This is the commission guideline sent from my agent .
*
if i read it correctly, not more than 24 months is 1 month rental.
every subsequent yearly renewal is half a month.
why not sign 2 years straight?
i mean if i understand correctly
1 year lease = 1month, 2nd year renewal = 1/2 month...total 1.5 months
2 years lease = 1 month
Unless u are planning to move around and stuffs, won't a 2 year lease be better?

The landlord only want 1 year lease so only can take 1 year lo. Frm that guideline means 1 year lease 1 month agent fees but my agent say each individual pay to their agent, meaning landlord pay 1 month to his agent and i pay 1 month to my agent ar? Rich d lo agent like this lol
*
then u can nego with the landlord. laugh.gif laugh.gif
if my point is valid, the landlord might reconsider.
who wants to pay extra half a month rent right?
unless he intends to increase rent the following year to the extend that it can cover the agent fee. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Yes, few years ago, my friend in one of the big4 got the CPF paid in cash by the company as he just an EP holder, but after he got his PR, he  rclxub.gif  as a big chunk of his salary has been deducted to be paid into CPF. Whatever cash he recieved prior to getting the PR, he has to put in back into the CPF. He is about 2 months without salary...
*
Oh...so it means if one works for 2 years before getting PR and got the employer contribution for CPF encashed.
When one becomes a PR, the amount from the 2 years needs to be "deposit"ed into CPF?
