I agree if it's a second hand car but if it's from parents/siblings, do we need such thing?

My main concern is the tint actually. V kool on the car now is close to Rm3k and it's such a waste to remove.  sad.gif

Perhaps consult Puspakom first to see if need to remove. Maybe they can let it pass? Or keep it under your dad's name temporary.

Yup will need to check with Puspakom about this. It is under his name at the moment. Since he transferred his NCD to the new car, i just need to top up the balance for now. smile.gif

I have built a free android app to calculate monthly installment or to recommend a car based on preferred monthly instalment. Link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...pps.carloancalc

I am planning to add features to calculate Road Tax and insurance for a given model. I tried a couple of searches around but couldn't find a definitive answer.

1. Formula for road tax calculation?
From what I know, road tax is dependent on the engine capacity ie. How many cc, I found the following but not sure if that is exhaustive and also the latest.

< 1,000 RM30 RM20
1001 – 1200 RM65 to RM80 RM55
1201 – 1400 RM80.10 to RM100 RM70
1401 – 1600 RM100.10 to RM127.50 RM90
1601 – 1800 RM255.35 to RM325 RM200.40 to RM280
1801 – 2000 RM325.35 to RM395 RM280.50 to RM380
2001 – 2500 RM396 to RM895 RM381 to RM880
2501 – 3000 RM897.50 to RM2145 RM882.50 to RM2130
3001 – 5000 RM2149.50 to RM11145 RM2134.50 to RM11130

2. Formula for insurance?
I totally have no idea on this, any articles recommendation is highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Thank you very much, it is pretty complicated as I feared, may variable & parameters to take account, will be focusing on road tax first then,

Again, thanks!

Does V Kool have the JPJ Certificate like Cool World does? FYI Cool World tint is certified ok with JPJ. So when I went to PUSPAKOM to do the transfer from my wife to his younger brother for her Proton Neo, suddenly the tint inspection failed. So I had to use the pen knife to take out the tint.

Afterwards I went back to Cool World and they reinstalled the tint for free. Cool World told me the inspection failed because Proton Neo windshield was already tinted at a low percentage. That is why when combined, the inspection failed.

Definitely V Kool has the certification. I'm just curious if this is a special case by Cool World or all tint shop does the same.

FYI my family only use Cool World. I have done it for 2 cars, I mean the warranty claim. Maybe because I am a good customer. I do not know. You can try asking another branch V Kool first if can replace or not before going to your branch.

Guys, a bit of help needed please.

2 years ago my wife gave her Honda City to her mum since her mum got blacklisted and can't buy car thanks to her brother. So, now the car is still being used as daily car and her mum still continues paying the bank monthly.

So, my question is can we change ownership of the car to mum, eventhough 1)mum got blacklist, 2)car still under bank loan?

Does changing ownership means mum has to apply for a new loan for the car?

I want my wife to transfer the ownership of the car to mum so she could get her 55% NCD. Since mum used to have a car, I don't think it would be a problem getting her old NCD once transfer is complete.
