imo, all you need is to read the manual, along with any general photography book as a start.

there are no 39.5mm filters locally.
go to YL camera, buy the JJC hood for X10 which is cheaper, then use 52mm filters which are much easier to find with better quality too. |

some of the ppl working in shashinki are abit incompetent.
they all come with lens hood and adapter. Added on May 7, 2012, 6:22 pmactually, IIRC the original x10 hood + adapter is selling for RM130 in YL. i have no idea why its listed at RM178 on YL's website, but i guess its to make abit more from outsiders instead of walk-in customers. btw, imo the hood is not worth it.
its such a small lens, any flare causing elements can be easily shielded with ur spare hand since its such a small camera. so yea, a cheaper option is to search for a 40-xx step-up ring, either 40-49 or 40-52. |

oh yea thats another reason why i dont want to use the filter adapter...cos then i will have to buy a new case...or continuously take it off everytime i want to store which is irritating.

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ May 9 2012, 04:09 PM) Yeah had to clean up both the filter and the lens as well but no big deal. Just that you don't want to tighten the hood on the adapter too much. Else it will be too hard to twist it back out. One trick is to open the hood while the adapter is still on the camera. Much easier that way. 40.5 cannot screw in all the way.I didn't get the original casing when i got the camera. Kinda stands out too much for me. So i got a small pouch instead that can fit the camera with the hood. Can even fit the EF20 flash, spare batteries, card reader, lens pen. It's pretty packed though. Looking for a small shoulder bag to fit the battery chargers & gorilla pod (clone) as well. The filter i think depends on your luck. Some say 39.5mm. Some say 40mm or 40.5mm. It's impossible to find here in Melaka so i gave up and got the adapter to use 52mm filter instead. Oh so you emailed Fuji Malaysia? Hope you can share when exactly will the sensor replacement program starts. Got any orbs to show? at most about 2/3 turn only. i got a 40.5-52mm step up ring which i use once in awhile for my CPL. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Jul 10 2012, 05:25 PM) no no... i mean when you zoom out it goes to f2.8, then zoom back in again should go back to f2. Is it easy to go back to f2? Mine kinda stuck at f2.2, force a bit then it goes to f2. is that cause of the new lens?maybe aperture blade stuck Added on July 12, 2012, 5:19 pm QUOTE(aquos @ Jul 12 2012, 05:03 PM) Dpreview finally posted their indepth review of the X10 using camera with new i had a S90, and jpg wise also my S90 was sharper my X10.sensor. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilm-x10 On page 16. IMAGE QUALITY COMPARED(JPEG) I compared with XZ-1 and S95 and find the X10 is softer than XZ-1 at various iso. It is also not much better than S95. Is it my tired eyes or the new sensor. hmmmmmmm. To change or not to change to new sensor and i havent upgraded my sensor yet. This post has been edited by Everdying: Jul 12 2012, 05:19 PM |

what statement is that?
QUOTE The settings are not commonly used (low ISO, high DR and M file size), so you may not have noticed this problem arise. i thought that is one of the most common settings used. |

QUOTE(aquos @ Sep 7 2012, 05:25 PM) Compact, high-end, with the appearance of three kinds of colors (black, red, brown) technically it is a much slower lens.12 million pixel 2/3 inch EXR-CMOS sensor with EXR-Auto High-speed processing and high-speed response time 4 times Fujinon optical manual zoom lens (equivalent to 35mm camera 25-100mm), combined with digital zoom up to eight times F1.8 (Wide) – F4.9 (Telephoto) Optical Image Stabilization Full manual feature Bright, clear 3.0 inches / 460,000-pixel LCD screen 360 ° seamless mobile panorama function 11 Art Filter effects and 5 “film simulation modes for creative shooting, plus the relative displacement of the two 2D photos to create a 3D photo 3D shooting Full HD video capabilities, camera support manual optical zoom and Auto Scene Recognition Dedicated camera bag is optional Same sensor as X10 but faster lens, slim pocketable body and no need for lens cap are improvements over X10. I think they will announce it in the next few days. f/1.8 to f/2.0 at wide angle is pretty insignificant, while f/4.9 of whatver that model is called to the f/2.8 of X10? X10 wins. also obviously has less buttons to attract the more general consumer crowd, so i wouldnt be surprised if it comes out priced somewhere between RM1.5 to 1.7k...
