QUOTE(ahtiven @ Feb 9 2012, 01:33 PM) have fun with the new firmware finally that part has been fixed.2.Each value set on ISO sensitivity and Dynamic range can be maintained even if aperture setting mode (P / A / S / M) is changed. http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_ca.../x10/index.html btw, just wondering...must use card reader or not? cos i got no card reader or can just copy the firmware file straight to the camera? cos x100 no need use card reader, just copy file to formatted card on camera, then off-on and start the process. |

QUOTE(wke002 @ Mar 7 2012, 11:35 AM) am quite newbie here. for this compact, when it says 28-228mm, does it mean the real 28mm or crop, i.e. 1.5 = 42mm - 342mm? Can't wait to own one.... the crop factor on x10 is basically 4x, or more accurately around 3.94x. the actual length is written on the lens which is 7.1 - 28.4mm, so which after crop factor is 28 - 112mm. |

couple days ago i purposely went out and tried to look for orbs.
somewhat got la, but it doesnt bother me...and if fuji offers free sensor replacement i'll take it anytime. my serial btw is 14m01***. my free case i never bother to use, still in the box. i using this for walkaround, RM40 only - http://www.manfrotto.com/nano-vi-camera-pouch-black when i need more protection like go holiday etc i use this - http://products.lowepro.com/product/Apex-60-AW,1907,26.htm This post has been edited by Everdying: Mar 19 2012, 06:22 PM |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Mar 21 2012, 11:08 AM) ya, its not on their site.i walked into their PJ outlet a few weeks back and saw it there. and iirc, original x10 hood YL was selling at RM130. this one also not on their site...so whoever is updating it is probably lazy. QUOTE(jehutyz @ Mar 21 2012, 09:45 PM) if u use the viewfinder, then the JJC apparently blocks more cos doesnt line up properly.i dont both use filter or hood for such a small camera anyway. plus with the hood on, you cannot put the camera flat on a table. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Mar 22 2012, 10:57 AM) Oh... i'm in Melaka so more convenient looking at Shashinki catalog. dunno about spare batt, cos i got extra one added into the package when i got my x10.Plus i compared between those 2 sites. Some stuffs are cheaper on Shashinki and some are cheaper on YL like the EF-20 flash. Looking for a spare battery. How much is it at YL? Wanting to shoot RAW+JPG. Still need to learn a lot about digital darkroom... shooting RAW+JPG is what most ppl who want to use b&w will do. so u set the color the b&w, which means the jpg come out b&w...but later if u want the color version u still have the RAW file to work with. |

EF-20 iirc YL offered it for RM420.
the build quality is similar to the 3rd party ones like nissin with plastic hotshoe. then again its suppose to be a sunpak rebranded, so not surprised. anyway if u dont need bounce flash, the build-in x10 flash actually does a pretty decent job at throttling its output to match the scene, so u dont get as many hotspots. |

QUOTE(kenlui @ Mar 22 2012, 07:31 PM) Guys, i dont even know what the bundled strap is like, all still in the plastic wrappers.U all using the bundled strap? There is a small piece of leather which has a hole that goes into the pin at the camera right? My camera dropped twice today because of that damn piece of leather. It just keep slipping out, luckily I was using the original casing, nothing happened. Perhaps time to get another strap with a different type of connector. i straight away went and looked for an optech, which is what i use for my DSLR also. so yea, using this - http://optechusa.com/cam-strap-qd.html Added on March 22, 2012, 7:43 pmbtw, u talking about the neck strap right? how did u hook it in? doesnt sound like its put properly to me. i dont use neck straps for small cameras anyway, kinda overkill. Added on March 22, 2012, 7:48 pmbtw, that small piece of leather is just to protect the body from the metal parts of the clip. its not suppose to hold the strap in anyway... QUOTE(kenlui @ Mar 22 2012, 11:05 PM) Look at the pic joseph posted up there. The pic after the mosque. See the leather piece there? The strap will go in btw it. looks like some ppl didnt read the manual, cos that strap doesnt look like its going thru the small metal triangle, and that is the piece thats suppose to hold the strap.[attachmentid=2751717] I was using the black strap that came together earlier on, no problem hanging or whatsoever, but once i got the leather case I changed and the leather piece came out a few times which caused my double fall today. that small leather piece just on the sides to protect the body from that small metal triangle. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Mar 23 2012, 11:21 AM) I looked at the site it's 448, 50 cheaper than Shashinki. i just walk into YL and RM420 is what they told me.Yeah it is decent. Only problem is i have to take the hood off if i want to use the flash. I've searched for it. It is cheaper but you won't be able use TTL with it right? Since the contact is slightly different even though the rest looks the same. the site is probably marked up abit to cater for online orders. |

i'm very curious what settings u use to get orbs?
here are my 2 miserable failed attempts at trying to get orbs. left side is obviously underexposed just to show where the hotspots are. all shot in manual mode. ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Mar 26 2012, 12:11 PM) Lol that's really bad. I have yet to try shooting shiny things at daylight but at night it's proven to be as bad as your pic. its still down to certain settings used.Maybe you're lucky to get a good copy! The reason i didn't get the pouch even though the seller say it's "free". i guess this is a pretty decent thread on it. http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=40791127 |

QUOTE(enviro @ Apr 12 2012, 02:21 PM) The on/off switch on the x10 is not well designed in my opinion. First it does not that is not a camera problem, but user problem.feel precise. Instead of click"on"click "off" it is like going over a bump feeling when "on" and going over bump again to "off." Real cheap feeling. Another problem is if you dont shoot for more than 2 min. it will go to sleep mode. Other cameras you just press shutter button and it will wake up ready to shoot again. On the x10 you have to twist lens to switch "off" and then twist the lens to switch "on" again before you can shoot again. If you are playing tourist at some spot then you have to"on"and "off" the camera too often. the menu already has an option to turn off sleep mode. btw, u dont need to twist the lens to return it from sleep. simply press the picture review button. obviously its not as good as pressing the shutter, but it works...also works when u just want to show ppl some pictures. no need to twist the lens to on, just press the same button.
