Information
Company advertise in newspaper, looking for IT personal. Called them, they said it to search & analyze data for customer, ask me to go for interview.

During interview, they said training will be provided, and they need someone urgent. It is actually commodity trading (trading cocoa, palm oil, coffee beans and so on.) They said all data is thru the internet, from US. This was 9 years back, I forget about the company name, it's something like blabla Worldwide.

This company frequently advertise in jobstreet. It's a head hunter company. I applied thru website, that time I was jobless. They call me up for interview, I was so happy. Step into the room, the guy who interview me, looks very professional, all questions he asked, is related to the requirement of the job.

End of interview, he said my skillset was a perfect match for couple of his clients. But, he need me to become his member, in order for him to forward my resume to his client. Member fees RM15. After all this effort, of course I won't pull out because of this RM15, so I pay to join as member. Until now, I never hear from him, and this was 6 years ago.

As I remember, I need to fill up a log book when I step into the office, I was the 120th interviewee, for that day. Let say 1000 members he get in 1 day, and that is RM1500. wtf lol

My brother saw this advertisement in newspaper, there is no company name, just title & phone number. He call the phone and that Mr. X ask him to meet infront of Sunway Pyramid main door. He waited there for 15 minutes, notice there is a car stopping nearby. It was that Mr. X. He call my brother to enter his car, and interview in there.

Mr. X straight to the point and said, the position is actually Man Whore. Mr. X need to see the candidate, must be presentable and muscular, that's why he stop nearby to check out his candidate, if not good, he will drove off and call off the interview.

Customers mostly professional, doctor, lawyer, and most importantly, all are man. When there is a customer, Mr. X will call his staff to meetup with the client, per meeting is earning RM50. When they in the hotel, Mr. X said staff must kiss the client, and whatever service that comes after that, it's up to the staff, and negotiate with the client, 100% in the pocket.

My brother asking how about girl's customer, Mr. X said those girl who getting this service mostly gangster's mistress, and girl too easy to fall in-love, and create lots of issues. Guy market is new and yet to explore more.

The guy must be gay and be willing to play behind.. There are very little gays in Malaysia. Good luck on finding candidates!

But anyway, with RELATION to fraud, becareful about companies in cetral kL with regard to management who ask you to pay 100 something for training and then sweet talk you on how much they need you.
They will treathen to blacklist you, but you can treathen to report them.. I will add that name's company after I get the receipt from someone I know who fell for that.

Also if there is any job opening for clerical/admin/data entry/filing type of catergory job for this company Century Adjuster Sdn Bhd, DO NOT JOIN!!!!!
This is their website: http://centuryadjusters.com/index.htm
They will underpay you and very hard to get annual increment, also work on Saturday. Worst of all they will make you work overtime without overtime pay. So becareful of this company. I know because someone I know worked there and has left. Imagine 3 years and no increment. Bonus also not certain. bad bad company. worst of all dunt even pay for KWSP. But the boss is a bad UMNO putra KJ kind of person. For election he said anyone who wanted to take leave for voting had their annual leave deducted. When the staff complained, he said, "go ahead, complain me in the labor dept. I dunt care, I have my brother in there."

No need to complain to the labor department. Its been mentioned that if your superior refrains or threatens you to vote, legal action can be taken. Even the umno themselves would want 1 vote from you.

as far as i'm concern nope
jobstreet is not a recruitment agency
therefore they don't hv the rights to deducted ur salary unless u go directly to them
and hire them as ur agent, & tht is diff story already

Yeah,

Anything to do with Management Trainee, it is better to be careful and read properly first. Not all Management Trainee are bad but you have to really check out properly

So far I can confirm Regal Asia Group is 1
2nd is ChannelDirect Asia.. under Azizan who is the person who brought up Bryan from Regal Asia.

Headhunter is another in suspected list.

Well, juz be careful.. Fresh Graduates are the target..

For those in Melaka.. if anyone found any under DNMC... pls stay away as well.. another under DSMAX..

I am sharing my experience anyway...

It is a choice of yours thou

This is definitely a good thread to keep an eye out for, if only i knew it earlier i would not have wasted so much time on 'time wasting' interviews.

It would seem that lots of people have mentioned the Cobra int, and guess i would share my experience here just as well.

I applied for management trainee in jobstreet for a company called APPCO sdn.bhd, They have a nice office in Wisma Goldhill.

But anyway as someone earlier mentioned, they first ask you simple questions and then call us back for a 2nd interview. During the 2nd interview, they'll show us a 'show' on how successful the Cobra company is and how happy the the workers are and how much fun they are having. Everyone looks like they are so happy there with all the cheering and stuffs.

End of show, they'll drive us to a shopping complex, i forgot where since i'm not from KL and over there, they are actually getting people to sign up to provide monthly donation to the WWF. (world wide fun for nature). During that time, they'll praise us alot, make us feel like we're having fun and all.

But to cut long story short, we get no EPF, we get no basic salary but work purely for commission. Example, if someone signs up for the donation scheme, we get RM100+. We also need to hit a quota every month. If you don't sell enough then you can happily eat sand/grass la. (which ever your preference)

Out of curiosity, i asked " What if I ask for a basic salary" and the person seems annoyed and replied, "If you reallly want, then i pay you RM1.5k (or less)" but there's no commission and you have to hit your quota and if you go OVER the quota, they still don't pay you the extra. But of course, they make it in such a way that if you calculate, then taking the commission sounds better. But i can tell you, getting people to sign up definitely won't be easy.

The supervisor assign to us will also help us "sell" but only because every time you get someone to sign up, they get some commission as well. So it's something like a pyramid scheme.

End of day, I passed with flying colours and boy were they mad when I turned them down..

It actually don't sounds as bad after I typed it out but whatever it is, stay clear of them, unless you don't mind working half to death to get peanuts in return..

Does teaching English in the UAE in a private language institution for USD 4500 a month sound too good?

What about job offers for other countries? Can we check the companies at their respective embassies in KL?

Hi there, I guess you are a person who easily believe what other people's believe of what they believe on something and probably don't have your own principle. It's up to you if you decided not to go for any interview with any company but as I partially involved on the back operation of the career fair in Mid-Valley, I'm quite disagree when you decided not to go for an interview just because somebody who you dont even know posted a thread referring to some scary shit that you dont even know whether its true or not.

Sorry if I put it a bit straight forward. Why don't you think in this way. Do you see any company who sell chicken being part of the career fair? Do you think the organiser esp Jbsteet will allow a company or a fishy woshy company to take up a booth just because of money and not prioritise on reputation? Sure, they have done their homework and most of the company there are reputable company.

Why dont you do your homework and go thru the company background and career guide booklet "A Blue Print for Success" that I saw this Channeldirect Asia firm given out during the Career Fair and I even asked them where do i get more info about them and they guided me to browse thru their website www.channeldirectasia.com which you can download the booklet also from their career section.

The office located at Bukit Bintang, next to the big Giordano and the billboard advertising company Ganad same row with McDonalds. There is a big signboard at the second floor - channeldirectasia.com. It has established for 7 years and their principal are having marketing projects for bluechips clients like Telekom Malaysia, Singtel Singapore, Standard Chartered Singapore, Citibank Australia, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and many more. If you think that you have all those concern of reputation and reliablity of those firm. Dont you think that those big companies who outsourced their below the line advertising will have more concern than you?

Or the least, why dont you go for the interview and ask the interviewer about what you heard from this threat and ask for his/her answer?
