Hi Guys just joined but been reading this for a while. Got a n55sf and have a huge problem when playing counterstrike of mouse cursor appearing sometimes and worse still exiting to desktop lots of times when in mid game. This sometimes happens even when not touching eyboard. Only way back is to hit windows key and return. Also disabled windows key with wkey disabler to no effect. This happens in MW3 and other games also. Any help please as I feel like throwing laptop out of window as usually happens when in firefight and really annoys me, thanks for any help cheers,

Well seeing how much of a FPS fan you are, and the fact that you play them with the oddly-positioned keyboard layout for N55, I'd suggest you go get yourself an external keyboard, good ones if you're really into FPS. That'd solve all the problems. (I got 1 for myself as well mainly for MMORPGs and FPS)

I didn't have any cursor problems nor warkey disablers, but playing those games make WASD hot as the heat comes out to the left vent and somehow heat up left part of keyboard as well, so it tends to make me feel discomfort playing (specially on High-Performance setting)

Problem: Throwing laptop out of windows.

Solution: Get an external keyboard.

does this forza motorsport 4 game available now and for pc?

HI All,

anyone still playing Skyrim? a few days ago, as i was playing suddenly the game freeze for a few seconds, but before that, everything was smooth.
nowadays even in a fight, the game would suddenly freezes for a few seconds.

all other games are ok, no problem. i've tried :
- upgrading my BIOS to 223
- install the latest Nvidia driver
- update the game to the latest release.
- increase VGA clock
- decrease VGA clock
- reinstall - with/without mods

but nothing works, seems a Graphic card bug. any ideas how to solve? been looking everywhere for a week for a solution. but no one has the same issue on an N45sf.

hmm..i always disable anti-alias..i already tried to set it to "lowest" settings, but still the game freezes..so i think its something correlated with Graphic/CPU

how to disable superfetch?

windows start > run/search > services.msc > (find superfetch.. just ensure it is started/turned on) ..

have u try game booster?? or..
just do not overload ur system eg: online n etc.. while gaming..

Speaking of game booster, yeah I rely on that as well. Of course it's something we can do manually, but 1 button that does everything is always nicer to have

I'm using Advanced System Care and their Game Mode really make things so easy for me

What's the different between N55SL and N55SF besides having different GPU?
What's the difference between Nvidia 635m and 555m?
Is i5 enough for heavy gaming? or i7 is more recommendable?
I'm playing games like Crysis 2, Skyrim, Diablo 3 (Just can't wait!) and BF3.

Thanks will try keyboard but don't want to carry keyboard around as use pc when travelling. Thinking about puting laptop in for repair as I only bought it for playing games and it is nit fit for the purpose. Anyone else had this problem its really freaking me out!!!!!

try and monitor the temperature? COz i've been playing with high setting on N45SF(630Mhz GPU core) without any problem. Only difference is that i'm still using nvidia driver 285.62

Added on April 2, 2012, 6:24 pmNvidia 635m and 555m is actually the same card, just rename from 555m to 635m and with a slightly slightly higher clock speed(think it as a overclocked 555m). I5 is enough for normal usage and for the game u mention all are more than enough actually. i7 normally if u would really need it(like processing video/simulating stuff), or else don really have to spend money on it. And i7 is much hotter than i5, saw other users easily 100C when gaming.

Thanks for almost-instant reply. I guess I've made up my mind on N55SF. Gonna get it next week Btw. Is N55SF white available now? I went to lowyat on last Saturday. Only saw white available for N45SF.

The white one is jay chou special edition(more expensive), white colour not available in malaysia(dunno why have to ask ASUS malaysia)

Hey guys my N55SF is dead.

When I start Windows... the desktop isn't finish loading, BSOD.
When I start in safe mode, the desktop will grind to a halt.
When I start startup repair, it cannot do a system restore...

BSOD failed to do physical dump with error code 0xC0000010

It's found that the hard disk disappears after minutes of booting up in safe mode. The laptop is bought in last December. Guess tomorrow will take to Lowyat for warranty.

Anybody having the same problem? Before this catastrophe the blue screen gets more frequent...

hmm? but I'm pretty sure that's white for ordinary N45SF. The Jay Chou version should comes with some blue stripes or something like that.

sounds like ur hdd gone case ady. Better go back to service centre and change one

I seriously hope it is not HDD problem... I can't backup anything now. My music, games and epic videos are gone!

go back to the service centre first, let them check and everything, if is really a hdd problem, they will replace a new one for u. U can ask them to help u retrieve ur stuff back(if the hdd is still salvagable)

Damn... too many confidential and private and illegal things inside lar....

unless u have some good friends with some nice PC they can backup for u(i normally do that though ). Shouldn't be hard as long as ur hdd still ok...
