QUOTE(versacy @ Jan 17 2012, 10:58 PM)
Should i use aero(glass) or the basic theme for my windows 7?
i got the intel hd 3000 and gt555 and heard that basic uses cpu and ram while aero uses the gpu. since this is optimus i don't know wat gpu it will use but for gaming gpu wud be more stressed under aero.
my auslogics boost speed says tht my gpu(probably intel hd) natively doesn't supports aero effects and its safe to disable it for better performance. can someone let me know if i shud go ahead use the basic or keep the aero? playing with windows in aero is better than in basic where it drags under animation...
*
Don't worry, the HD3000 is not that weak of a GPU. And aero doesn't use much resources on windows 7. The laptop will stay on the Intel card without running any games, no worries there.

ok restarted windows managment instrumentation- says the following will be restarted security center and IP helper.
Restarted didn't do anything.
Under network adapters I have

Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.0)
Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless Network Adapter

Before I uninstalled the WNA. After uninstall, it reinstalled by itself somehow (don't remember since it disappeared from the bar).
*
Try uninstall both Atheros, it should reinstall back unless you tick delete driver software.

you bought from the website? any idea how much is it selling in kl? after you stuff the cooling pad inside, does the bag reached maximum (like it is going to explode) already? you mention the subwoofer hang inside the bag or outside the bag?

ono.. im here in sabah, bought here in kk pc image shop.. i guess thats the coolest swissgear backpack available here better than the available latest RM150 to 135 Targus (primary school bag looks)! .. tongue.gif .. bought it from RM148 bargained to RM135, sabah.. try googling mudah.lelong or etc.. yeah, i can sure u this bag is very good at overloading anything and u wont feel heavy to carry due to its comfort and light-THICK shoulder straps and back cushions.. just now i easily loaded 2 more pc joysticks from the middle compartment but still got plenty room inside n the other compartments as well... there are 2 ring holders available which u can hang the subwoofer either inside or (outside - at 1 side of the bag).. smile.gif .... its worth n satisfactions guranteed.. hehe

Hello, newbie here.
Planning to buy Asus N45SF soon, but i've been reading about the graphics problem and short battery life.

I can handle short battery life, but still curious how is the battery life, especially for browsing and watching HD videos.
Is the graphic still problematic now? I saw that Asus had given a solution by giving new bios update, is the problem really solved now?
Tried to search many pages backward but not getting a clear answer..

In short, do you recommend me to buy the N45SF? Or should I just choose N43SL (my second choice)?

Thanks for your answer smile.gif

mm.. i save my battery a lots due to completing some latest games all the time since november last year.. meaning.. no graphic problem.. smile.gif .. battery can run 2 to 3 hours during surfing while running music in power saver mode .. battery wear level is at 7% now.. IMO, avoid of having many "pc tweaks utilities" at a time i guess.. found crashed on the system performance instead.. but dont worry still its safe to buy and satisfactions guranteed.. hehee thumbup.gif

Thanks soloinruds and Sky04!

Anyway, I've been googling and asking around much, and it seems that the N45SF model that has core i7 is not sold in Malaysia? Only N45SF with core i5 model only?
