QUOTE(iipohbee @ Jan 7 2012, 04:58 PM)
If they have professionalism, during the 1st visit by the Unifi installlers should do a survey and layout panning to the house informing the owner how the cable should run.
Then the premise owner can assign his own contractor to do the necessary conduits and cable covers to preapre for the day of installation.

When the actual day of installation everything should be there for the installer to just pull the cable and install everthing on their part.

In countries like Japan and Korea. That's the way they do it. The installer must negotite and inform the property owner how they intend to do the job and ask for permission before commencing work. If the owner disagrees, then renegotiate with alternative suggestions until it is agreed upon.

Bro I have brought up this matter a million times to TM. Infact I have also apply to be an installer. Its never given. The requirement for them for new installers to come in is you must, MUST BE 100% "bumi" company and must be 100% "bumi".

Said and done, I hv nothing further to comment.

Saw unifi box installed behind my house.
I check the coverage, got show my jalan and taman but the house/unit no pretty mess up with number ~100+.
The free 1month subscription only valid if apply online?
Saw agent advertisement in my mailbox, just typical free installation and equipment.

Btw, I want to know any hidden charges that I am not aware of?

Nothing surprising, sometimes their work is made hard through their OWN limitations.sweat.gif

I believe the by the 100% "bumi"ruling, they can also impose any convenient charges as they like yet maintain their own standards.

That's why it's no surprise also some will end up with RM600+ charges while those who opted for freebies end up with exposed "terbang" wires.

There is no need to follow strict guidelines just the take it or leave it attitude.

+1.
Take it or leave it. They are hesitant to complete the job and provide a good service, as they have loads of business pouring in non stop from TM. You complaint I tell you ill come back and finish it. Just hit and run.

All applications that I handle, I make sure I send a service delivery attention to the installer if they screw up. So far, I have forced 3 main contractors to be dismissed by TM for their "tadak peduli attitude".

I pitty those who apply from non authorized agents and end of the day they are clueless like headless chicken on everything. So be wise when applying or opting for a service.

Why can't the premise owner provide their own conduits and cable casings to preapre for the wiring done by Unifi installers?
It's fair what right? I set up everything for you before you arrive and on the day itself you just pull the necessary cables and set up the equipment

The pigtail customer termination casing all I buy myself and install in place. When they just come just pull the fibre.

Do you think it's fair? I get to choose my own high quality boxes from 3M or whatever and make it easy for the installer.

Oh ya Rattan, can you help check the status or future availability for my postcode 31650 and 30050?

I saw "tong sampah" in front of some house and the green fibre cables running neaby these boxes on poles.
Those tong sampah got no TM label on it.

Thanks.

Since yesterday for me in Damansara Perdana. Intermittent dropped packets and lag so bad that SWTOR is unplayable.

guys, just bought 1043ND to try out after amonth using 841N.. everything ok but the LAN speed..
if i direct LAN cable from PC to 1043ND, the speed can read 1gbps..
if using switch (the switch support 10/100/1000 speed), the speed only read 100..
but my sister PC also direct to 1043ND and the speed also 100.. the NIC support 10/100/1000 too.. weird huh?
*
Dig into the settings for LAN Adapter on ur sis PC. Sometimes you need to 'enable' it. NO idea regarding the switch. I actually read something about this some time ago. It's said, we can't set our LAN Port speed to 1Gbps. We can only choose 10/100 Full/Half Duplex but not for 1Gbps because based on IEEE standard, the devices will "negotiate"(not the exact term but the term contains the word negotiate/negotiation) in which when 1Gbps is available on both end, it will be set to 1Gbps on its own.

Yea a bit slow for me today too

iipohbee i thought you already got unifi since you're pretty vocal about fiber optic and stuff tongue.gif

I heard my installer(i think it is 3rd party) last time that the fiber optic they need to buy themselves so need to charge for it.Sure doesn't sound convincing but have to pay anyway since dont wanna delay installation date. sad.gif

Well at least they done an average job unlike some horror stories i heard in the section of the forum.
