SGW has 512MB RAM, once you boot up the phone, a RamDisk will be created and filled with critical OS files in the root folder (/). Leaving only 351MB for used.

Then, Android OS and other components will be loaded into the memory. This is what taking the 170MB RAM.

Browsers in desktop have been designed to use memory lavishly, on the other hand, Android app are more concern about memory. But need not worry if browser is taking too much RAM since all modern OS has Virtual memory concept. That mean, if not enough RAM, part of the storage can be used as RAM, but it will slow down tremendously of cause.

Do not worry if your RAM usage is high, that mean Android is caching your favourite App. Unused app will be suspended and if continue to be unused, will be map to a file if there is a new App require more RAM.

Ahhhh that's pretty informative. Thanks a lot! Humbly request TS to pin this up in the first post notworthy.gif

You have this phone right? How much ram usage is the 'limit' before you feel some lag?

We get around 350MB to use.

170mb used up for Android OS etc, so we have left 180MB.

I opened up the browser and was surfing 3 windows it ate 130MB+ if not mistaken...and I could feel some lag already hmm.gif

LG's Optimus 2x/Black screen quality is almost of a fruit screen or should said same with fruit because they use IPS technology. Which is the best LCD screen technology compare with S-LCD. The only drawback of IPS display which is the yellow bleed screen which is the hardware issue.

LG's build quality isn't that sucks. The Optimus 2x has the best build quality on LG phones. The only drawback is their software. Which is slow on updates only, other wise it's good when comes to build quality and the processor which is Tegra 2 dual core 1 GHz.

Of course it has 512 Ram and 8 GB Storage, not to mention MircoSD slot available. in RM 1.4k for genuine set is cheapest dual core phone you ever have.

P.S sorry for being off topic. Samsung Galaxy W also pack with goodies too for below 1k tongue.gif
