Planning to install solar water heater on my house as well, any recommendation?

For 3 water heater usage
*
branding wise : Summer is the longest in malaysia

Spec Wise : Aquasolar is better and better discount

Performance Wise : MicroSolar or Solarwave using tube type design

So depending what you are aiming for, I am currently using SOLARPOWER TANK with AquaSolar flat panel smile.gif

Was given a tube type Solar Power FREE but 1year ++ the tube gave way, performance drop. Solar Power already closed down, so i changed to 3 flat panels smile.gif using it for 3 years, til now no issue

Any advise on micro solar?

Just give them a called; seems it is not a one stop solution and customer are put in situation to juggle between pumbling and solar contarctor.

I just registered, and hopefully this is seen. I have a solar water heater on the roof, and I am planning to leave for 3 months. Common thought is that the water should be turned off to the house. There is allot of information on gas and electric water heaters, but very little about solar water heaters. Is it safe to turn off water to the house?

Why don't give a call to your solar heater supplier?

What I understand is, you need to cover up the heater so it doesn't produce hot water.

It should be pumped pressured no more than 3bar, reason being from tangki it needs to pumped upwards. Post tangki is water pump which tees to all bathrooms ( splits early) and then where it it's at the underside of the roof above which should be where the SWH goes, is another tee upwards, usually stainless steel or copper. Check valve protects from back siphon from solar water heater and pressure limiting valve protects the SWH from over pressure and risks of bursting the storage. The pressure limiting valve spec depends on the SWH model. Usually 3bar. Another down pipe (copper) from SWH outlet will merge into a T junction ( isolation valve positioned there for ease of maintenance) that goes to all bathrooms.

Your plumber needs to modify the copper plumbing from the centralised storage water heater (assuming this is the current setup) to T junction close to where the outlet comes down. Usually by looking at the schematic and measurement the plumber (or SWH plumber) will install the T junction and isolation valve agak agak directly where it'll come down.

They most likely reroute the outlet from your storage water heater upwards is there is one installed and forgo the pressure limiting valve at the SWH if there's one already installed say the central storage water heater but for assurance they might still install one there.

Don't need high pressure for hot water. You waste away the hot water.

You only need slightly higher pressure for cold water.

Hot water mix is always require more on cold water ratio.

What would you recommend (which Solar Heater) for a Single Storey Terrrace, which has 2 bathroom.
We are keen on Solar Heater (as our current place is using that) - but would also consider Storage Heater if the price for Solar is beyond our budget.

Flat Panel, durable and long lasting - AquaSolar

Tube type, newer technology, better efficiency - Solarwave

if u have just one bathroom then drum (storage heater)

if u have 3 or more bathrooms then solar is a better choice

Solar comes with 10 years warranty for most brands (1year guarantee parts and labour) 9 years warranty parts only.
If spoil and require replacement or repair, solar is much easier

Storage sometimes require cutting of plaster ceiling.

If you seldom use tank, it requires heating upto 30 minutes. If daily use then is faster (water is already warm or hot in the tank).

While solar, u can leave it there, it will automatically reheat when there is sun. No need to wait

hi there
I am currently undecided btw mysolar and aquosolar. Which one is a better option?
And there are different opinions btw using copper pipes and PPR pipes. Whicj on shd i go for? Old timers would say go for copper but ppl in the industry said go for PPR coz copper can cause leakagae more likely than PPR pipes.. which one is true?

if done properly both copper and ppr wont leak. Copper if not tighten properly could leak where else chances of error for PPR is minimal (refer on installation video below)

Why some old timers still like copper bcoz they are used to it, more confident with it. While PPR could b new to them and they might not have the machine to install it.

PPR has better heat insulation, chlorine resistant, less joint = less chance of leaking

sifus, i am looking for advice here, yet to read on from page 1 but i ll certainly do so to catchup the latest details, perhaps someone asked previously.

currently my terrace house owned 1 of the water power solar that was installed....i reckon roughly 10 yrs ago, when i fixed my rooftop for water leaking last 2 months and the technician said the water power solar required to to do a proper maintenance (yes no1 come and service for many years already)

*it was installed by my parent many years ago
*installed on rooftop, quite a big 1, so whole house bathroom access to hotshower.
*mom mentioned roughly they came on the 1st yr or 2nd yr saja then afterthat lost contact.....
*aint sure what is the brand/type or power solar

is there any technician trustworthy that /k can recommend.
the guy who repaired my rooftop said he only repair rooftop but he did take me a few pics, terrible phone camera i must say, but from the pic the power solar looks quite bad in condition, and he mentioned the filter dunno how many years didnt change already....

appreciate sifus sifus advice. tqvm
