sifus, i am looking for advice here, yet to read on from page 1 but i ll certainly do so to catchup the latest details, perhaps someone asked previously.

currently my terrace house owned 1 of the water power solar that was installed....i reckon roughly 10 yrs  ago, when i fixed my rooftop for water leaking last 2 months and the technician said the water power solar required to to do a proper maintenance (yes no1 come and service for many years already)

*it was installed by my parent many years ago
*installed on rooftop, quite a big 1, so whole house bathroom access to hotshower.
*mom mentioned roughly they came on the 1st yr or 2nd yr saja then afterthat lost contact.....
*aint sure what is the brand/type or power solar

is there any technician trustworthy that /k can recommend.
the guy who repaired my rooftop said he only repair rooftop but he did take me a few pics, terrible phone camera i must say, but from the pic the power solar looks quite bad in condition, and he mentioned the filter dunno how many years didnt change already....

appreciate sifus sifus advice. tqvm

Some brands are maintenance free, as in the case for Mysolar; I'm still in contact with their sales manager, Gary. Performance is still the same as it was three years ago.

I changed from a malfunctioned SolarPower solar heater where the storage tank had a leak ( within two years of use) and the company closed down; thus I couldn't claim the 10 year warranty.

Zheilwane helped me to negotiate with Mysolar as I purchased the SolarPower heater from them and was very reluctant to go with AquaSolar as it was a fairly new brand; even though they don't carry Mysolar, it was a one off help and a much appreciated one.

Summer is the most expensive when comparing spec for spec.

Some old micro solar heaters have additional spare tank design, and this require some maintenance IINM.

When deciding on solar heater, ensure the company is reputable, established and has a good track record. And purchasing from a good dealer with after sales support is crucial as well.

Why need hot water heater? Keep large tank outside, warm enough.

hi just checking.

for solar heater is the number of user judging by hot water tank capacity?

for example 2 brands,

brand A 250 liters
brand B 300 liters

does it mean that surely brand B can serve more user compare with brand A?

or could it be

brand A have better heating energy hence 250 liters water is hotter than brand B 300 liters so both can serve equal number of peoples.

safer get 300L, many solar claim better heating, temperature upto 90 degree bla bla bla, tested in bathroom it is impossible to get 90. So, they will say, no no cant measure in bathroom, we nd to measure directly in the solar, ok fine, but cant be solar 90 degree but comes down to bathroom only get 60 degree or 70 degree.

So, if a solar company claims they can do 90 degree celcius, hence u use less hot water, so u no need a big tank, ask them pls write black and white on the receipt, if cant achieve 90 degree demand full refund smile.gif

To share, i used both evaquated tubes and flat panel, both +- max heat, dont feel a big difference. What i can honestly tell u and accurately inform is that my flat panel aquasolar can achieve a max of 68 degree celcius, measure in my top floor bathroom (max hot) 68 degree is already smoking hot, if really a solar can go upto 90 degree in bathroom, u might accidentally get scalding, imagine pouring boiling water on yourself

Comfortable shower temperature ard 38 - 42 degree +- so with 68degree, mix cold water, u get a nice shower

Bigger Better as u STORE more HOT WATER, in case rainy season.

i honestly dont think can get 90, 70-85 is the temp for hot coffee and instant noodle, anytime more than that is very hot and close to boiling temp.

oh~
kind of strange, maybe they focus on projects sales instead of consumer market.

FYI how is summer quality compare with mysolar aquasolar etc?

depending which spec u r getting, high spec confirm good. Low spec, try to avoid. They got low spec, cheap to fight for projects.

All 3 solars quality also ok geh, compare the spec and price c which value for money. all 3 also reputable brands. i only sell aquasolar the other 2 i tak ada

Have just dropped by Zheilwane's place for a budgeting exercise for a new property and is contemplating whether we should get a solar heater.

What kind of electricity savings are we talking about in comparison to the usual instant water heater setup? We have got 4 adults with 3 children at home, showering twice daily.

If it's copper, usually yes. Some solar water heater like Microsolar allows the old storage water heater to become a backup as long as the capacity is within parameters ie not too big a capacity ie within 30-50 liters instead of 75liters and above for example. However other types of SWH may have backup heating elements already built in and may not require it. Again it depends on the product used and the manufacturers specification.

The only thing that needs to be modified is piping from storage water heater to solar water heater and the rejoining of the SWH outlet to the existing hot water distribution to the other outlets of the bathrooms. Your plumber needs to work that out with the SWH product and installer.
