hi guys.. i'm lately checking out mechanical keyboards and would appreciate for some suggestion.. keyboard i'm checking out was..
i'm checking out blackwidow standard.. reason is cause its cheap and i'm not sure if the key actually last better compare with the coating of the ultimate.. but i like the backlit of the ultimate..

after some research i found out both razer is only 2kro.. so i begin checking out others.. and notice the ducky 9008s.. it has the light which is nice.. the matte finish which is less fingerprint magnet.. and some review say the plastic is way better than razer.. but it's at a quite premium price for half a k

so my concern is.. any of you experience less pleasant experience with he blackwidow, keycap quality, fade issue, shiney key.. does the ducky have any issue like that as well as some review mention the unstable quality of ducky.. has that been improved..  i have sweaty hands so i'm quite paranoid about the quality and it's durability..

and if you were in my place.. which would u buy.. other brand is welcome also.. since.. u're the one that've been through it much thx

oh ya i forgot to ask one very important thing.. i'm using the dlink kvm.. any of you have problem using these keyboards with kvm..

Ah, so the BW is the blue switch. It was my first time trying on a mechanical keyboard, and kinda like the BW. But as usual, Razor stuffs is err... overpriced... and this is one of their first mechanical keyboard which is why I'm asking for suggestions for the other expert brands in mechanical keyboard.

I use my keyboard for typing most of the time... rarely game much nowadays, blue switch should suit me? or should I be going with brown instead?

i don't particularly looking forward for backlit stuff, and about transparent keycap being rare. I mean for now.

Since those thing are slowly growing in this market and getting more and more common, why pay premium just because the stuff is rare for now, and slowly getting common and cheap in future.(example : keyboard with backlit)

Well, it's just my point of view thou. Because sooner or later, modding will be getting common and easier with guides and stuff. and KBC keep pumping out all kinds of keycap and going on for further mass production.

For me, i'll sit and cross my finger, and wait for the ultimate keycap that is suitable for backlit.(i don't want the current transparent keycap with coating seriously >_>, They don't last long in my usage. )

erm, FILCO Majestouch-2 more worth compare to ducky shinning?

I have a question for the Ducky DK9008 Shine. Does the keycap become shiny/fade quickly? Besides that, where can I get one/test with brown keycaps in KL?

Anyone have their hands on Cherry MX Clear switches before? Been reading that MX Brown switches on Ducky Shine has the 'mushy' feeling. Is it possible to have the clear switches on a Ducky Shine

I tried a Filco tenkeyless yesterday at Lowyat plaza Viewnet, it was awesome and I was instantly poisoned by it but, I don't know what switch is it... Plan to get a leopold after CNY but is there anywhere I can try different switches in KL? Want to order from cyclone but Taiping is too far to try...

And hmm filco is really out of my budget because my initial budget was RM2xx.... Leopold is the max I can afford.

The whole board using fake cherry(red) except the WASD, using real Cherry Black.... Good for those ppl with vintage board which only harvest keycaps. I assume it is possible to be fully modded into Cherry board.

Count the price of 2nd hand switch, the fully cherry modded board will only be costing around 350RMB, which is consider really a bargain for the PBT keycaps(and possibly hardware level programability).

Even for those who are completely don't know how to mod, it is also consider a cheap price. The fake cherry switch should not be too awful to be pressed too judging from the semi success fake cherry yellow(except stem durability maybe, LOL).

Eventually we will have one of each keyboard for users to compare. We are even considering doing a post motem to show you the difference in quality. The keycaps on Filco is of very low quality, and the stabilizer on large keys squeak very quickly.

Leopold, CM, Razer, Steelseries. But usually people buy Filco and Leopold. Many seem to prefer to buy Filco even though the quality isn't particularly impressive considering the price tag.

Is it limited edition? I'm really interested in a Ducky Shining Red Switch blue light. Flying back to Aus on Feb 12th so hopefully I can pick one up.

Wish that someone could make a tester board like the one on GH. Would allow quick testing of different switches.

Because brown is the safest bet.

Certain ppl don't really know whether they are wanting tactile or linear switch. Also, the blue switch is also not the taste for all ppl. Thus, brown is the safest bet, at least know that it is better than rubber dome(most ppl agree with this but IMO, brown really sucks too).

I just tried RED few days ago and indeed it is really nice to type on(and like others claimed, you don't really know when to stop the switch).

Though IMO, RED can really be claimed as the safest bet of at least feel better than on rubber-dome. If unsure on when to stop, simply press far enough and try practice not to bottom out(cause it will be loud and the force acting back on your finger will be great till you tire soon).
