Chill bro, not try to implying that local one is expensive or what. Ducky is from Taiwan and thus it is reasonable for them to be cheaper(a little, not much actually) in Taiwan. Also, I know that importing goods will be more expensive(shipping and so) and it is normal for stuffs to be more expensive in Malaysia... wink.gif

You might experience of your items to be malfunction if you order them from overseas, and thus you might not get local support for the warranty since most of them only covers local warranty, so grab it in Malaysia if the brand is available locally.

Just like my first Filco AI, once i placed order from Inpad Taiwan then only Edifier (Inter-Asia) announce they will bring in the Filco AI as well (at first they didn't), then my first Filco AI got problem but luckily the shipping agent willing to help me to send back for warranty but shipping fees or any other charges will be on me.

QUOTE(CANONPIXMA @ Dec 11 2011, 10:19 AM)
guys, i wanna ask.. mechanical keyboard is softer to press compare to normal keyboard? or vice versa?
*
Compare to membrane, yes softer, since you don't need to bottom out for the key to actuate, where as membrane you need to press till the bottom in order for the key the actuate.

To see how cherry switches work on how they actuate the key without even bottoming out, check first post.

i saw the 30g,50g thingy.. for membrane keyboard like my g510, how many g is the button? wanna try 1.. see how it feels  rclxub.gif i thought mechanical keyboard is harder to press compare to membrane 1..
*
It should be around 55g but really we cannot give you an exact answer.

If you wanna try out the mechanical keyboards, you can go to Czone Low Yat, they have Filco/Ducky keyboard in stock, well brand doesn't matter, what matters are the switches.

guys, where is filco keyboard assembled and around what price are they on now?
i've heard some rumours filco and ducky manufactured from the same factory?
*
Filco and Leopold are manufactured by the same factory, which is Costar, so quality for both of them are more or less the same, where as Leopold is much cheaper compared to Filco.

Filco is priced about RM400+, while Leopold is RM3XX, same league as Ducky if i'm not mistaken.

They both made in Taiwan. But from different OEM.
Filco is japan brand and design but manufactured by Costar in Taiwan. Can say is the top notch quality you can get in Cherry Mech KB.
Ducky is Taiwan brand and manufactured by taiwan OEM(not sure but somehow they are related to KBC China). Quality is acceptable but the QC is kind of inferior to FILCO for sure.

I not sure if Leopold is also made by Costar but CM Storm(yeah, the famous cooling product brand) and Rosewill is made by Costar. They are a good option if you can afford the high price tag of FILCO. Though, some ppl do claim that even they are from same OEM, their QC standard are still below FILCO(thus higher RMA rate).
*
I thought people already mentioned Filco and Leopold are from the same manufacturer?

sadly no, Filco and Leopold are not the same manufacturer, and i'm not allow to disclose any information further than that.
*
Since you say so, then we all know that Leopold isn't manufactured by Costar anymore, since someone in here has mentioned before that Filco and Leopold shares the same manufacturer.

regular membrane used around 55g +- depend of design. But advance of mechanical keyboard is it fast activate compare to membrane because membrane u need press till btm only the key will activate but mechanical switch not need to btm up also will activate already you press like 2mm like that only, so when u 1st time used it with membrane typing style you will feel tired cause u will auto keep btm it but when u already get used to it, u will  auto not to btm it and make typing very comfort already.

Like me i am black switch user, when i 1st time used my Keyboard is like typing machine cause i keep btm it and finger feel very tired after some time. After few month of using, currently i type with less btm it already which make my keyboard have less sound already compare to first time used. The 1st part u find the different of mechanical keyboard will be the part where the key return to it position after press is very quick/solid compare to membrane.
Not sure about other but that my 1st experience when i start used.
*
I don't know mang but i just like to bottoming out the key, the tactile sound is sexy. drool.gif

QUOTE(mazei @ Dec 13 2011, 11:26 PM)
Hey guys I got a few questions.

1. Why are Red switches not so popular?

2. Are the Corsair keyboards sold anywhere here?

And if you could add me into the list of users, I'm using a BlackWidow Expert.

First mechanical keyboard and loving it. Really one of those things where once you use it you don't really want to look back. But now I'm thinking about trying out other switches. Browns feel quite nice but I really want to try Reds.

Also I'm going to get a USB to PS/2 converter since I play rhythm games(O2Jam needs 7 while USB only 6KRO), so wanna ask whether any converter will do or should I watch out for those cheap cheap ones?
*
1. Red switch are the softest one compare to the other due to its no bump + clicky, people might have hardtime getting used to it, but once you have used to it, its just like touching a boobie.

2. Not sure.

Your last question, no one has tested to use USB to PS/2 converter on black widows yet, so we cannot guarantee you will get the NKRO or not, switching to PS/2 doesn't mean you will get NKRO function, and just go for the cheap one will do.

Hey guys, what is the best white 104 blank keycap that can go with my Ducky 9008 (that comes with black blank keycap by default)

Thanks !
*
Ask yourself whether you wants a smooth surface on keycaps or a matte one, smooth = ABS, which is like a normal keycaps that's built by plastic, but quality are limited, while matte = PBT, durable and matte surface, correct me if i got it wrong by the way.

i bought some Red Blank PBT Keycaps awhile ago, and found out that the height of the keycap is actually higher than the original keycap that comes with Ducky 9008, is it normal to be that way? blink.gif

Where you source for PBT blank key caps? If you still remember, do the seller has 104 set?
