QUOTE(GroundMan @ Nov 22 2011, 11:03 PM) SS7G is goodingly built with superior quality(except keycaps). Some ppl even try run a truck(4WD) over it and it is still functionable(partially, LOL).However, if you are not diehard need for the Steelseries branding, audio ports, USB 1.1 and gigantic wrist rest, there is also lots nice® and much cheaper alternative out there, especially Leopold BTW, I don't think SS7G still cost RM550(SRP) as in last year I already saw many retailer sell them at below RM480(cheapest even below 400). IMO, SS7G is really an old model and I think it almost reach it's EOL or revising dy. Added on November 22, 2011, 11:33 pm QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 22 2011, 10:13 PM) Even take out the LED, Race still seems more poison than Noppoo Choc Mini(may be cz Choc Mini is quite old dy? LOL).Race is more ergonomic(the profile seems really smooth from R5 to R1), where as Noppoo's is sharp changes like ladder. Lastly, I really like the 4 bigass arror keys. Did anybody notice the swap of place between letter "G" and "H"? Is it designed to be that way?

Don't think ergonomics has anything to do with that. @westley0214 Probably they did not put the keycaps back properly. |

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 23 2011, 01:07 AM) Noppoo Choc keycaps uses Cherry Profile, so those awesome faces will fit with a similar height the Esc definitely cannot fit.... old cherry profile....Don't think ergonomics has anything to do with that. @westley0214 Probably they did not put the keycaps back properly. |

QUOTE(rurushu @ Nov 23 2011, 01:15 AM) the big arrow keys are there... with the sacrifice of the right shift......... unless you type without the right shift key.... if not then the design is good to go.... I do use the R. Shift especially for "<", ">" and "?".I don't find that the new layout will be inconvenience as our fingers are already on the arrow keys, just need to move to left to reach "?" and "shift". SS6GV2/Zowie one are the real inconvenience which ''?" is not directly beside Shift. Another compact layout is worse by having this sequence: "?" > "arror up" > "R.Shift". Added on November 23, 2011, 2:19 am QUOTE(rurushu @ Nov 23 2011, 02:57 AM) Oh... i thought you all comparing to the KBTalking Race..... coz that Esc on the KBTalking cannot fit..... LOL, the "Esc" on Race is bigass one. Need to get a modifier key if you want to replace it.sorry... misunderstanding here.... Even so, I don't find any reason normal size key can't be put onto modifier size key, just that you will see some holes there... Added on November 23, 2011, 2:21 am QUOTE(GroundMan @ Nov 23 2011, 02:43 AM) Not sure dy, it was almost a year ago(and mostly clearance sell).I doubt there is many more SS7G retailer out there and not to say they actually sold them and restocking... Added on November 23, 2011, 2:23 am QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Nov 23 2011, 02:07 AM) Noppoo Choc keycaps uses Cherry Profile, so those awesome faces will fit with a similar height I still remember that last time there is some picture comparing the profile(slope) of Deck Legend, Xarmor and Razer BWU. Some of them are having more natural curve(slope) and some are like ladders as I mentioned.Don't think ergonomics has anything to do with that. @westley0214 Probably they did not put the keycaps back properly. The KBT modifier is in R5.
Nobody makes replacement key caps in R5, just like nobody makes replacement spacebars for the noppoo choc mini. This post has been edited by kaiserreich: Nov 23 2011, 10:56 AM |

QUOTE(lucidlts @ Nov 23 2011, 06:28 AM) Oh, you got the point there... The tallest modifier will be R3's Tab and "|\"... That mean no mod for the Esc & Backspace... The pain of go for unpopular layout keyboard... This post has been edited by Human10: Nov 23 2011, 12:41 PM |
