This is a good news!!!! Me will save my money harder now... for this yellow filco... was eyeing this one ever since Kaiserreich posted about this back then....

Hmm, i think this would be heavily depend on the price tag of this limited edition keyboard.

If KBC yellow keycap price tag + Filco Keyboard price tag = FILCO LIMITED YELLOW EDITION price tag, would not be so profit.(because you could keep FILCO Keycaps as spare or sell = PROFIT!)

But, if this Yellow keycap is doubleshot then... i will bow to FILCO "Ou, Hail, My Lord Filco, I Must Have That!!"

With more and more options out there, Limited Edition will slowly become "Eh-hem.. not limited" Unless, it has anything to do with casing that is.

the only thing i afraid would be that 175 are the "Bulk" price as you ass, they are cheaper than the SRP(Suggested Retail Price) Price tag. it is possible that the price tag is higher than what undarken/squarebox has provided in Singapore VR-Zone.

I think it all depends on Filco's mood... because not all keycaps/keyboard casing is matched with the LED...
For instant, the Majestouch Italian Red the LED is white, where as the Ninja Italian Red LED is blue (what a turn off) and the lock legends are still there despite being a Ninja....

2. i don't think gold and yellow would have too much difference.

3. The Yellow keycaps are ABS, and all we know that, KBC does provide ABS Keycaps and multicolor too, which is not only PBT, but ABS too, and in future POM as well!

4. For LED part, i guess that would have be based on user preference. for me, i do think yellow or white LED is kinda distracting to my eye, because they are too bright. But i can't comment about this model LED yet, because there are no one owns the model yet to give us the clear picture of this product.

But.. i don't think LED is hard to solder if you wanted to compare to switch soldering.

2. He is comparing the mj2 with mj1. MJ1 is gold label while MJ2 is chrome/silver label.

3. Yar, KBC do make both ABS and PBT. Also, KBC ABS is much cheaper than their PBT.

4. Modding LED should be easy as just desolder 6(2x3) pins and resolder 6pins. The harder part will be sourcing LED with suitable voltage, current, resistance and most importantly the size.

LED is harder to solder compare to switches or other electronic components.

LEDs brightness from FILCO has become softer since the introduction of Majestouch 2.

Aiya... guys, what i want to stress out here is... We all know that Filco likes to introduce new "limited editions" with some aesthetic changes here and there.... as the mold is still the same.... And that they put more "effort" in this Yellow Limited Edition compared to other "limited editions" that basically just change the casing color and said this is a new limited edition...
At least this one is fully to the theme "yellow"....


Edit: So far the real value limited editions from Filco where you can see some effort in them are the Aluminium series, Filco Majestouch Italian RED, Pink Majestouch 2 tenekeyless (the one with the lotus emblem and the twin heart keycap), Filco Camo and this one (at least i think it is....)

Agreed, i'll head to some local shop to play with those LED first and solder some basic board to check the LED.

Do you have any experience in this? because i would wanted to know the suggested voltage/current/resistance and size.

Need to buy a few to get ready, because i'm considering to order the "Phantom board" from geekhack/deskthority to build my own keyboard, along with my wood casing project.

And yes, the real value limited edition are the one you mention. For Keycaps, we could mod it just from purchasing the keycaps from taobao or locally or geekhack.

But Casing, that's another different story, which i think the worth buying limited edition would be the casing.

Guys, I went to Lowyat today to try out the switches and realise that brown kinda suits me .. And then I saw the Filco camo and phewww, cant resist so I got it for RM479 in c-zone =.=

Not yet bro, I kinda got it cause I like the design. Anyway, what does the multicam function do ? I'll test it out and let you guys know about it. Wow, it is a pleasure to type in this keyboard. The brown switch is slightly hard, yet slightly clickey. I actually tried the blue switch in BW which is pretty nice too, the black switch on the SS 6gV2 was pretty hard while the black switch on Filco was slightly lesser than the SS. Was wondering whether to go black on Filco or not, but brown seems best now

Was also expecting to camouflage it in some background like the promo pics that describe what is "camouflage"....
