hehehe...cheap to replace?  hmm.gif that's depend on indi. pocket size

care to share your method?

I do soak my bearings in zippo liquid for cleaning, then spray with SC 99 and apply some singer oil to it (don't know any cheap lubricant yet - newbies tongue.gif )
*
I just use Tamiya fluoropolymer compound. As long as the bearings are smooth and doesn't make sound when rotating, then it's good for me.
I know people likes to free-spin rollers and see how long the spin could last, but on track it doesn't really make any difference because the weight of the car and drag from the motor, and the overall setup like roller size/positioning has more effect.

I would accept it as a substance to clean metal.
But most people just follow others, so they don't really understand the after effect.
To me, any moving parts especially metal/iron that makes contact needs to be lubricated to ensure its lifespan.
Zippo liquid cleans bearings, but afterwards it also creates friction and could wear out the ball bearing.
But I guess ball bearings are cheap to replace, so it doesn't matter to most people.
*
most ball bearing come with protective grease to prevent it rush, so new bearing usually we will clean it with zippo or contact cleaner to wash out the grease, the grease is good for industrail usage but not for speed purpose like mini 4wd.

after cleanning, we will drip some bearing oil, this is important not just the lifespend of the bearing, but it will take more load, and spin faster when it come with force.

I read this link http://www.tamiya.com/english/mini4wd/chas...hassisintro.htm but I want to know from the sifus here how each chassis feels (easy or not to modify, maintain, setup, acceleration, etc.)

Especially AR chassis. Not enough people give review on AR chassis.

I like this reply. thumbup.gif

Most tutorials out there doesn't even tell to re-lube the bearings and just use as it is after dipping into zippo fluid. To me, that is a problem.

color chassis quality is different, it's softer compare normal from the box.

MS used to have color chassis too, it show you are still new~~it come 2 in 1 pack...full chassis(center+nose and parts).

MS is more upgradeable, and more fun... as for me MA is easy as MS, but the launching speed is a bit slower due to it weight.

hmm.gif if it's softer, will it tend to easily break?

I'm getting myself the white MS chassis

by the way, WTA About Wheel Types

Carbon wheels are stronger and lighter compared to normal (stock) plastic wheels. right?

But what about Aluminium wheels? what are their specs and where do they stand? really am curious hmm.gif are they stronger and lighter compared to carbon ones? because they sure are expensive, selling at 35SGD per set (4 wheels)
carbon wheels are like RM 33 a pack for a set of 3 (12 wheels) haha sweat.gif

carbon wheel is harder, but it's heavy compare to normal stock plastic(PP) wheel. and it more likely to broken compare to normal plastic due to it less elasticity...

so carbon wheels are actually not a worthy upgrade then? rclxub.gif
they cost more, weighs more, easier to break...

Just a curiosity, is it better to place the mass damper on the middle?
Currently the mass damper is on the rear (BASIC TUNE parts)
