QUOTE(mudster @ Dec 2 2013, 08:05 PM) Hi guys, I used to play this many years ago (maybe about 15 years or more) near Atria, Damansara Jaya and I am just restarting from scratch (my old proto emperor zx had an unfortunate accident with a wall :~( ). Grab 2 sets of this Basic Tune up set.. Item no. 15435Right now, I have to relearn everything again. I just got myself the basic Shadow Shark AR chassis. I want to know what should I do next? Any recommendations? ![]() Double the front and rear plate for better strength.. Next, ball bearings for wheels, ball bearing rollers, motors, front and rear brakes. Use stock wheels first as the stock medium diameter wheel with the low profile tires are pretty stable. For brakes, try the sponge one first. Bila dah pandai nanti you can try the FRP plate one. |

Well, I assembled using the standard plates (double front & back). Used the larger rollers to make it straight. Had to change the layout of the rear rollers because the bottom plate had less than 2mm clearance from the ground. This AR chassis is really low...
Gonna airbrush the body tonight. |

QUOTE(toa cheng @ Nov 19 2013, 12:04 AM) woooo! sorry for the late reply. was away for KLIMS. only managed to score Top 80. I lost trying to qualify to Top 50 to Jai (of Speed Houz). His car is a speed demon crowd was great too! the cheering and everything was plain mad and fun. btw, back to the topic. is MA as easy to tune as MS? I broke like 3 nose units of MS in less than 4 weeks playing hahaha. everytime I break the nose unit, I learned a new way to reinforce it. good learning process, bad for my wallet though. but, MS is soooo easy to tune for Semi Tech & Semi Speed la. too easy makes it boring sikit. is it the same for MA? I mean, is it easy to tune? if it is, I wanna pindah to VS or Super 2 pulak. I find Super 2 is a cheaper chassis to work on with compared to MS. e.g : RM 25 = 2 Sets of Super 2 Chassis (RM 12.50 for a chassis) .....but for MS is as follows RM 20 (for normal black coloured Nose & Tail unit) or RM 33 (for red reinforced N04 / T04) or RM 33 (for bumperless LED Nose & Tail) + RM 20 (for lightweight centre) = RM 40 - RM 73 for only 1 set in a nutshell, it's RM27.50 - RM 60.50 difference in price per chassis comparing MS with Super 2 This post has been edited by ShinKen: Dec 3 2013, 08:09 PM |

One thing I really don't understand about online tutorials teaching people to soak bearings into zippo liquid.
Zippo liquid does not have lubricant nor protection properties. It makes ball bearing dry and it could cause wear out bearings. And also breaking in motors, also by soaking it into zippo liquid, or filling in lubes in the whole motor. There is no touching parts besides the contacts inside a dynamo, unlike cylinder based engines. So I'm really skeptical. People please explain to me. Tq. |
