Check out the Nokia Lumia Launch Party in Singapore at Read Bridge, Clarke Quay

A giant Lumia 800 was displayed!

Yes! I've tested it out at Singapore. It runs fluidly and fast although is a single core. FYI Lumia 800 & 710 runs on 1.4Ghz single core. smile.gif

ya.. so why need to dual core or even quad core? never the less more core mean more battery suxking.

i tried out my hd7 with a droid dual core device running side by side yesterday. both device rebooted at the same time. hd7 boot time out run droid dual core by at least 5sec. when come to run a a games called "burn the rope" hd7 finish loading than droid dual core by 2-3 sec ahead.

no doubt droid on stock ROM by manufacturer. not what droid user claims the fastest MUI version. but it still doest make sense to me a more powerful device running on such a so call more powerful and highly customised OS. it still run slower than a lowest spec device and what they claim buggiest OS on earth.

As for now, the OS is still at a growing stage and we might be seeing multi-core support in the future. However, what I personally thinks is MS is trying to put in more features for now, and more juice for the phone? Not necessary.

Sadly, they're kinda late to miss the train which the Droid & Apple has conquered most of the market.

FIXED. Tegra 3 phone is cumming on Android.... tongue.gif

Anyway, this is do or die for NOKIA...if they failed this one, it's bye-bye NOKIA. Seriously, Windows Phone already lost all the momentum with the lack lustre sales....i don't see how NOKIA can reignite the fire no matter how many laser light shows they put up....once people grab their hands on one...it'll be basically almost the same thing they saw on other WP phones last year with some minor difference, since MS dun allow for OS customization.

Whats with these obsession to differenciate? There's nothing wrong with the UI. It's fast, fluid and classy looking. It's easy to understand. Yes, every device look the same so why would anyone opt for a specific brand rather than the others. But that's where these manufacturers have to build phones that looks different from the others. Nokia N9/Lumia 800 is one such device.

I rather WPx stays the same than seeing the manufacturers have their own say on how the UI should look on their own devices. That new Sense UI..carousel looks horrible IMO. By it being the same across the board, it's easier for the user to get used to their phones should they change phones. Less bloatware too.

And when the time comes to update the OS, there really is no excuse not to give out updates like what we see on Android.

Microsoft really should be doing better to market WP7 though. There's still no marketplace for us. Nokia will help them with that hopefully.

Disappointed by the price tag for lumia 800.
Followed this phone for quite some time now and here i was thinking that since w7m os is not really that popular and nokia is desperate to get back on it's feet, i thought they'd push the phone out at a very competitive price. I was so wrong. Was thinking of recommending my sis, after seeing the price....no thx
Rationally when your trying to compete for market share and promote the w7m os, you should lower the price to try to convert android or ios user, call it a long term investment. But...no, seem like the ceo still prefer the "burning platform" and try to carved a niche market.
