Both are very different, can't really compare.
Windows Phone is about simplicity, smoothness, easy to use, stable, reliable; but it has many restriction and limitation (but if you're the user that doesn't care/bother about these, it won't bother you, just like iPhone users, most of them are fine with it).
Android is about flexibility, power, customizations, little/no restrictions and limitations, freedom. People who likes to customize, wants freedom, flexibility, will prefer Android. With this, they may have to sacrifice on the response, smoothness, etc. BUT it doesn't mean it will not have, it depends on HOW the device is being use.
Just like a sports car, if you buy a sports car and want to save fuel, you can drive slow like turtle, or you can utilize the power and sacrifice on fuel. A better example would of course be a PC, it depends how you use your PC, if you run many programs, obviously you may face issue like lag, etc.
So, as above, it really depends which type you prefer, it's very much different. Those who like Android for it's customization, flexibility, freedom, will hate Windows Phone limitation, restriction, although they may like the smoothness and other features like People Hub. Too bad, there's still no one OS that has almost everything to date. Nokia could've done it with Maemo, but sadly, they killed it when it's still a baby.
Being two very different category, it's hard to compare, you may be able to show the responsiveness, smoothness, the People Hub; but Android has the flexibility to customize, the freedom to browse their files, send files, play music, play videos, flash support, tons of browser selection, etc. So, both have it's pros and cons and suit different category of users.
i understand wht you mean, just tht my friends keep pestering me for liking this phone
but they don't really go and do customization for their android, just said that it's duo core :/
no matter, thanks, I'll be content with my L800 when I have it (in 2 months..i think)
