QUOTE(neo_sharky @ Nov 11 2011, 11:04 AM) Nokia Lumia 800 is very tempting for me since its bundled together with Nokia Drive. Can this replace garmin? by looking at their Nokia Map. i must say the Nokia map is almost as good as gMap. if they build Nokia Drive base on Nokia Map. it will be very good. but garmin is offline GPS. Nokia Drive need data i believe.

there is no point to have a faster hardware to cater your OS to run smoother. even a single core hardware wp7 device can run smoother than a quad core device. my custom wp7 OS running on 1GHz with 512MB RAM perform smoother and faster than a SGS II. cmon, do not simply assume when u have never experience it before. u have to compare side by side to get a result. not mouth by mouth. if you dont know, do not voice out. do some google. the first customizable ROM with customizable Metro UI is out there. see below to believe it.
there is less customization due to wp7 are designed to be clean and ease to obtain all information instantly. their tile can design to flip and contain updated information which it will alert the user even not opening the app. user just want something simple, clean, easy and informative from wp7. QUOTE(zerokid @ Dec 4 2011, 10:19 PM) you can download a map. it divided by region. Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore different map. It can be run offline mode. Malaysia map only 97mb so far haven't test on the road yet nope. u need data to startup for the first route. later on u can turn it off and it will still work. but it become less responsive.

QUOTE(joshuawong @ Dec 8 2011, 12:30 PM) Check out the Nokia Lumia Launch Party in Singapore at Read Bridge, Clarke QuayA giant Lumia 800 was displayed! Added on December 8, 2011, 12:33 pmYes! I've tested it out at Singapore. It runs fluidly and fast although is a single core. FYI Lumia 800 & 710 runs on 1.4Ghz single core. ya.. so why need to dual core or even quad core? never the less more core mean more battery suxking. i tried out my hd7 with a droid dual core device running side by side yesterday. both device rebooted at the same time. hd7 boot time out run droid dual core by at least 5sec. when come to run a a games called "burn the rope" hd7 finish loading than droid dual core by 2-3 sec ahead. no doubt droid on stock ROM by manufacturer. not what droid user claims the fastest MUI version. but it still doest make sense to me a more powerful device running on such a so call more powerful and highly customised OS. it still run slower than a lowest spec device and what they claim buggiest OS on earth.
