i got a problem here, well actually its no longer a problem... anway here it goes..
i have an n8 with symbian anna... i works the whole time but yesterday the touchscreen just seemed dead. its not responding to anything but all the buttons works just fine.. so iknow its not completely dead (coma maybe??) . so i did what most good n8 semaritan would do... hard reset but when i turned on the power button after the hard reset guess what... its still non responsive. and then the next thing a good n8 semaritan would do .... hard reset like there is no tommorow... i gave up after 3-4 hours powering on and off the set. well iknow its a stupid thing doing the same thing and hoping for a new result but hey... sew me. but anyway when i woke up this morning i just think i try to power on the paper weight just one last time... and lo and behold... the set is like normal again... but a with a bit more lag... after fidling around for some time, the set feels like it s normal self again.. i dont know what is the culprit but i suspect its the firmware.. or software .. or both conspiring together to brick my n8 and make me drive to nokia service centre.. so because its a big unknown... i ve uninstall some apps tht i dont need.. well thats the best thing i can do anyway... so any of you guys here that have this dead touchscreen problem please share... ive shared mine why wont you?... |

very simple to troubleshoot this issue. backup all your data. Then hard reset your phone and use it a day or two without memory card if any inserted. and erase the mass storage too. If the problem still persist could be hardware.
Make sure wipe your screen off any finger print or oil stain ![]() Nokia N8 @ Huei by JTproductions, on Flickr This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Dec 27 2011, 10:27 PM |

it is a fluke or somesort the touchscreen just died that day... now its working fine... hope my set doesnt do it again ooo touch(wood)... screen.. thanks for the recomendation guys... will keep it in mind if my set start to fark up again
btw. i would like to give 2 tip.. allways keep your usb seting default to nokia ovi suite. i always kept mine in mass storage default.. so when my set got fark up i try to jack it to ovi suit, but the software told me to change the setting on my phone to ovi suit... so no touchscreen emm ok you get the idea.. 2nd tip dont remove the simcard... the set will go to offline mode... when you put your simcard back right before the nokia shake hand thing came on the set will ask you whether you still want to be in offline mode... sooo no touchscreen emmm ok you get the idea well iknow its a hastle but atleast you still can answer the phone by using the headset... which of course should be in default mode so.. there is tip no 3.. keep accesories in headset default This post has been edited by Kiloweya: Dec 28 2011, 02:33 PM |
