G version with gingerbread 2.3.5? Some user also reported USB driver problem. Best you approach Samsung service center. I think Samsung didn't release proper pc driver for g version 2.3.5 or mess up the ROM driver.

try this. if kenot, mayb u shud send to SSC edi.

Settings > privacy. It will delete all your apps, contacts, messages etc. on your phone. So do a backup before trying.

Currently using normal stock tones, will try some custom tones and report back if any changes.

I'm using stock tones and its quite loud.

Ringtone not really a problem after changing to a custom tone/stock tone I realize. Only the SMS/Whatsapp/Email and in call volume is bad

Galaxy Note have much bigger screen, kiddo. If big screen you want then buy the Note :-P

Me coming from an iPhone background. Started off with the first model of iphone2g and eventually upgraded to the others. I got fade up with the restriction on iPhone and the jailbreaking process + frequent problems with the iOS.

Decided to go Android. Flexibility is given. Plenty of ROM & custom kernels to choose from.

I can access my SD card and phone memory when ever I want to. I can upgrade the SD card when ever I want to. I can replace my battery when its faulty, I can even carry a spare battery with me when travelling. No issues on coverage signal strength. No need to rely on iTunes.

End of the day its individual preference.

Plus a slim figure. Won't be bulky even if you put a casing on it. Just get sgs2 if you want bigger screen. You won't regret it. If got anything wrong you can always claim warranty. Its my first Android n smartphone and I'm glad I bought it

Have u ever used media encoder to convert medias files in order to play them on your SGS-2?

If u never convert, that means it really covers a lot of formats.
