Anyway, warm welcome to SGSII big family, dude :-)

Well I very seldom use TB, i manually backup the apps by generating .apk , nandroid later. No plans for custom firmware yet.

Still new to SGSII, im coming from HTC Desire background.

Copy the zip to internel sd root.

Backup titanium, contacts, messages
Get into CWM
Make CWM backup
Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache
Flash rom

Easy way, go into Task Manager and kill any kies that you see. Also remove it from startup through msconfig if you do not need it.

Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache only before flash new rom rite? How if only flash kernel? I saw Benny mentioned in earlier post : Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache, reset batteries, then again Wipe data, cache and dalvik cache, reset batteries, after that only flash rom. Need to do it twice?

I was just quoting it from the instructions from the rom developer. It doesn't really matter - once should be enough. And no harm doing it a second time

I used mainly Vital Player ( worth paying for it ) as it can play most common video files

Thanks uncle Benny. Just rooted and flash to checkrom with Siyah kernel after 3 months using stock rom. Is it need to clear all those data before I flash kernel? And also need to recalibrate battery everytime after flash rom or kernel?

Not enough info to say if your batt is draining normal or not. Speedmod kernel have good battery life.

No need to clear anything when flashing kernel. If you want to just clear cache and dalvik cache. Flashing siyah kernel through cwm already clear these for you.

Are you using Speedmod kernel ?
My phone number is tied to a data package which runs 24 hours. Push mail is activated on the GMAIL app.
Whatsapp is running.
That should be it.

Added on October 30, 2011, 12:07 pmGuess ill use it for a day or two and see how it goes. If still same, then will start on custom kernel + cyanogenmod ROM, hahaha

Depends, its best to wipe before flash to avoid FC.
