Will flashing custom roms void the warranty? I heard there's a flash counter or something.
Like for SGS, I can always revert back to the default stock rom so warranty is still preserved. Can I do the same for the SGS II? |

QUOTE(ronaldkh @ Oct 29 2011, 09:21 AM) Will flashing custom roms void the warranty? I heard there's a flash counter or something. Flashing and rooting will void warranty. But in my experience sending in to Samsung Service Center ( 3 x in Spore ( SGS) , 3 times ( 2X Tab, 1X SGS II ) at Plaza Berjaya) they never bother even though phone/tablet is rooted. Again this will depend on whether the tech wants to pick on you or not. I am not the only one in this forum who has such good experience. The 3 times i sent in to Spore is AP set bought from a lousy seller in Lowyat who tried all ways/means not to service my claim !!!Like for SGS, I can always revert back to the default stock rom so warranty is still preserved. Can I do the same for the SGS II? Even if you install back stock rom, all traces of flashing can still be detected by the technician. It only makes one feel more confident to sent in to claim warranty. The flashing process is similar to SGS This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 29 2011, 09:28 AM |

Have never bricked my SGS before. If I buy from the Samsung store, they have both the G and non-G versions? unless u had done something terribly wrong, u can hardly brick the phone. since u edi got andriod experience wif SGS then i think will not be a problem to u for flashing d. this is my first android phone n i had root it so many times without bricking it yet. even brick zor i oso got the savior jigg non-G version is very hard to find already. get one immediately if u managed to locate it. price will be higher than G version. but beware, some brilliant sellers sell G version the same price with non-G version |

If I can't get it, then I'll just go for the Note. No point getting the G. This post has been edited by ronaldkh: Oct 29 2011, 10:14 AM |
