QUOTE(kazama82 @ Oct 28 2011, 08:06 PM) Wow. Thought it's above RM2k. I might change to S2 while waiting for S3. But then Note's price is around the same right, with better specs? This post has been edited by ronaldkh: Oct 28 2011, 08:36 PM |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 28 2011, 08:45 PM) If you like flashing custom roms then SGSII is the phone for you as many developers had a hand on it. Just try to get a non-G version as the G version dont have any custom rom at the moment. Alright. Is it smooth out of the box? Also, how about the GPS reception? Much better than the SGS? QUOTE QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 28 2011, 10:37 PM) It is very smooth and it's gps is many times better than the SGS ( which I find is the worst of all androids I have used) QUOTE(kazama82 @ Oct 28 2011, 10:37 PM) Nice! So the MIUI rom only supports the non-G version? Pretty much into customisation. And confirm don't have original white set in Malaysia? Not available at all in the future? Will flashing custom roms void the warranty? I heard there's a flash counter or something.
Like for SGS, I can always revert back to the default stock rom so warranty is still preserved. Can I do the same for the SGS II? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ Oct 29 2011, 09:27 AM) Flashing and rooting will void warranty. But in my experience sending in to Samsung Service Center ( 3 x in Spore ( SGS) , 3 times ( 2X Tab, 1X SGS II ) at Plaza Berjaya) they never bother even though phone/tablet is rooted. Again this will depend on whether the tech wants to pick on you or not. I am not the only one in this forum who has such good experience. The 3 times i sent in to Spore is AP set bought from a lousy seller in Lowyat who tried all ways/means not to service my claim !!! Ah I see. Nevertheless, the chance of bricking is really low right? Have never bricked my SGS before. If I buy from the Samsung store, they have both the G and non-G versions?Even if you install back stock rom, all traces of flashing can still be detected by the technician. It only makes one feel more confident to sent in to claim warranty. The flashing process is similar to SGS |

QUOTE(Fallenangelz @ Oct 29 2011, 09:47 AM) unless u had done something terribly wrong, u can hardly brick the phone. since u edi got andriod experience wif SGS then i think will not be a problem to u for flashing d. this is my first android phone n i had root it so many times without bricking it yet. even brick zor i oso got the savior jigg Nice to hear that. non-G version is very hard to find already. get one immediately if u managed to locate it. price will be higher than G version. but beware, some brilliant sellers sell G version the same price with non-G version I'll try to get the non-G version. If I can't get it, then I'll just go for the Note. No point getting the G. This post has been edited by ronaldkh: Oct 29 2011, 10:14 AM |
