you sure root is required in order to flash any custom rom? i think you are giving wrong information regarding flashing custom rom.

Yes, clear memory mean you clear your gallery ram. So when you open you gallery, it had to star loading again. If you got many images inside, it will take ages to open smoothly. Next time dont clear you RAM as you phone have plenty of it.

guys, im trying to root here. but mine is stuck on the triangle logo boot. i tried pressing vol up+home+power but cannot get into recovery mode.

Have you buy Titanium Backup Pro? Only that can do batch backup. I remember the day when i bought, it was RM21. No regret to buy it because I messing my phone a lot.

your model is i9100 or i9100g? which method you used to root?

mine is i9100g.

i downloaded odin 1.85, downloaded kies, superoneclick, and a XWKDD insecure.

i went into the download mode, and odin detects my device. so i click on "PDA" tick the box and enter the XWKDD.tar file

and then its just hang like that. it supposed to reboot, but it doesn't. it stuck on the yellow triangle screen. i tried taking off the battery, and turn it back on, its still on yellow triangle screen.

my gingerbread is 2.3.5 and on the DZKI1

XWKDD is for I9100 not I9100G version

actually i dunno. i just looked up in youtube and follow the instructions

the thing is, the phone wont enter any download mode, or even turns on like normal. when i put the battery back, it goes straight to the "SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 GT-I9100G and the below screen got yellow triangle"

oh crap. now what do i do?

titanium backup, tasker, setcpu, learn about build.prop in xda and edit it! (go and flash a rom, checkrom is pretty famez here, or flash siyah kernal and overclock your cpu/gpu) <--only for i9100

main thing, enter download mode, you can leave the battery out for awhile, 2 mins? then put it back and try to hold down the three buttons till it enter download mode. if cant keep trying. if still cant, you need to get a jig ad. if you can enter download mode, then just follow my previous post to fix it then root it

seriously we should put a big big DONT FLASH I9100 rom/kernals into I9100G in the first post, the bigger the better, these mistakes is happening very often
