i searcing for motor bike transfer ownership, cannot get here.
maybe some1 can advice.
as motor bike just cost thousand plus, dont want to pay few hundred runner fees for doing it.

motor bike with valid roadtax and insurance can just transfer direct in JPJ right? no inspection needed, and how much is the overall transfer fees.

thank

your case may similar to car transfer now, need motor inspection revive roadtax n insurance, then you got the inspection slip, both owner present to JPJ with all document for thumb print.

Hi all,

I want to change the ownership of a car from my name (I am the owner) to my sister without any payments (a gift to my sister). The car is with my sister in another state. I have a few questions regarding the change of ownership:

1. I am not available for puspakom inspection. Can my sister go to the inspection on my behalf (with the car grant)?

2. Which form (B2, B5 or B7 or any combination) in puspakom does my sister request / need for such change of ownership?

3. If my sister (the new owner) and I (the original / old owner) go together to JPJ, can the process be done in the same day?

4. Is there any specific form(s) that I need to get at JPJ? or do I just tell the JPJ counter for ownership change and they will handle everything?

5. Once the ownership change is complete, the road tax will expired on the spot? My sister is daily driving the car so if she goes to JPJ with that car, she has to renew the road tax on the spot before driving back home?

6. How about car insurance? I supposed it my sister (new owner) will also need to buy a new insurance. Does that mean that I can claim back the remaining insurance of the car?

Apologies for asking many questions but I am a total noob and there are many conflicting answers online. Also, please do not ask me why I need to change the ownership of the car to my sister. I have to do so due to personal issue. Thank you in advance for the answers.

1. yes. but for own inspection you will need go early for Q, there alway has runner waiting outside. they can cut "Q" if you late. cause cash is king work very well in since Malaysia exist.

2. change of ownership done in JPJ.

3. Yes. just few minute at the counter. waitng time is longer.

4. you will need to fill some form while waiting your Q.

5. your sister can use existing roadtax n your insurance, until expired then she will renew with her own.

6. claim back not worth give your sis lah. but for NCD (55%) you can transfer it to new car, if you have new car.

Thank you for the reply. For insurance I thought it will automatically expired once the change of ownership happens. If not of course I will just proceed with the current insurance policy.

Also, I thought the road tax will need to be renewed once change of ownership happens. Thank you for clarifying.

I don't think this is correct, when transferring ownership all my insurance and road tax were auto expired (insurance will transfer back pro-rated) and I had to buy new on the spot.

That was what I read online.

What does it mean by "pro rated"? Does it mean the my insurance will also canceled and my sister needs to buy a new insurance policy?
(I am the original owner and my sister is the new owner)

Or does it mean that insurance can be maintained and my sister only needs to buy a new road tax?

road tax and insurance is cancelled, new owner must buy new; insurance will refund balance of premiums, pro-rated; road tax balance can also be refunded by JPJ

Double check with JPJ when you get there, in my case there wasn't a choice to maintain road tax/insurance, it was auto cancel and have to buy new one on the spot when want to transfer name.

correction on my statement, i had just check my bike the insurance no longer valid, it automatic cancel on last month when i do the transfer name. but the insurance remain valid. and has told i can renew 6 months roadtax if the insurance more than 6 months but i couldnt renew online, there is not insurance under my name. it is under previous owner. probably need to renew in JPJ or Pos.

BTW, on year 2020.........maybe i drive mycar without roadtax for more half year. during 2020 there still no app to check and my car is with the valid roadtax stick on the windscreen.

Supposedly new owner pays for new insurance and not continuing existing policy. No way an insurance company insure a new owner knowing that:

1. Ownership changed legally
2. New owner getting into accident is not the actual policy holder

Insurance co will not make any loss business

Motorcycle i heard no need.

It is mandatory for any motor vehicles other than motorcycle to conduct puspakom inspection before an ownership change.

2. After buyer n seller do owner trf via mysikap, the old insurance auto end? Buyer can buy new ins n rtax via online?

3. Can seller cancel old ins n rtax online to get refund?

Reason due to both parties dont want to go to jpj

rear glass & rear window tint not removed.

old insurance will continue if road tax using same expiry date, can jimat a bit. i decline.
so insurance terus potong end.
new insurance i delay half month becos unable to buy comprehensive online (over 10 year vehicle), force to go center or ask agent kiosk do.

seller have to settle refund himself.

I just sold my car. I cut off the road tax and insurance same day as the ownership change slip. It's a pick up so i get big amount of money there.

New owner have to do these two on his own cost.
