Hi all,

I plan to sell my car at 33k, already found a buyer and he'd like to purchase by loan. But i also have 28k remaining for my loan.

Is there a way i can use his loan to pay off my loan balance, or do i need to settle my 28k loan balance with cash first?

If I dont have cash to settle the 28k, what are my options? Can car dealership help me with this? Can Mymotor (owned by myeg) help do this transaction?

Thanks in advance.

Just because runner taking rm150.
We do our job fast and reliable.
Of cz u pay small amout of money, but do u have the time to go puspakom wait for 2-3hours just for the inspection?
That's 1st point, if u enter alrdy and failed without letting you know before report came out?
Can u booking again to enter immediately for inspection?
Will you take another day leave to do again?
Runner asking for rm150 (change name B5) bcz they could easily done the matter fast for you (save your time rather wait for 2-3 hours and failed)
Its ridiculous 300-400 as u said, bcz normally we charge around 250 for B5/B7. As receipt alrdy rm95.80.
Bared in your mind you pay us, we do our job without failed and re-enter 2-3times & most important you dont have to wait there (any puspakom alrdy dont have air-conditions like your home)
Dont said like everyone have the time like you to go puspakom and wait there 2-3 hours and felt like in sauna.

I heard it's compulsory to remove the original tint when doing a transfer, is that so?

Guys, sorry I skipped some pages (more like every three page) and didnt see anything about maintaining old plates.

I heard from a friend that you can keep a plate number when u sell you vehicle, and put it on new car when u buy. Is this true?

And I see some people selling plate number. They put on bikes etc. How is that done? Thought to change plate number both vehicle need to be in your name?

Front windshield usually we took off. Front passenger depends if visible 50%, then we jz ignore.

As you said permitted percentage, do u calculate uv of the glass + tinted percentage? Even your tinted is qualify but not all glass suitable to pass. Example bmw, uv glass + 50% tinted on front passenger. At puspakom will fail, bcz on their device passes usually are 43-44%. You can try yrself by drive a tinted car to puspakom then you will know d result. I jz share my experience.

Yes, when u sell yr car, u can transfer yr number plate to new ap. (Usually u can buy a new ap from motorcycle shop, they will charge u around 1k).
So when u buy new vehicles, u can transfer the new registration number to the old ap u have.
Hope u can get a clear picture.
Only new number plat can exchange with 2nd plate.
Buying 2nd plate (exp: WW1) cant direct transfer to current number plate. If u buying new car (come with new plate) then you can buy a 2nd plat (exp: WW1) to exchange with current plate (exp: WC 7306 S)

I see. So the motorcycle will be in our name or the shop name? That part I am not clear. Just wondering if its in another persons name, what is to avoid them from selling the 2nd plate for a high price? and how is two different owner plates interchanged?

Like A wants to buy WW1, but the plate is on motorcycle under B name. is it possible to just change the plates? because like now my old plate I wanted to change to another new car going to be bought by my aunt, but the person selling say both need to be same owner then can change.

And I agree about the tint. When I went with my quite visible tint to puspakom, they failed me. The permissible % also includes the glass (yeah, the fricking glass) % as well. so even if the tint is within permissible %, when included with glass %, it might fail. For me better be safe than sorry. Take risk like me and find out fail, need to reinspect, or just peel it off and put new tint after (which is better for our weather since can put darker tint cool2.gif )

Bro, 1st scenario
U buy (W1A), u buy new car and u interchange with your current car (2nd/used plat),
2nd scenario, u rent ap, buy new plate(W1A) to current plate (2nd/used plate). Then yr 2nd plate will give to motorshop put into their new motor for sell.

Yes, you can do an interchange between the old and new number. If you engage a runner they will charge you to do it.

Just to update. I did a purchase from sdn bhd to myself (private). General procedure :

1) Seller does the Puspakom inspection. Best to do the 'premier service', so buyer and seller can be present to ensure no hanky-panky. Cost of 'premier service' is RM100. Cost of Puspakom inspection is RM30. Total RM RM130 + 6%GST. There will be a B5 form given upon completion stating the engine block #, chasis #, window light transmission, etc...

2) [optional for cash-buyer] If getting a banker cheque, ensure you have supporting documents when you buy. E.g. a letter from the seller stating that they are selling the car to you and this price. Seems that this is some BNM requirement. Banker cheque cost ~RM5 @ Maybank

3) [optional] Buy insurance for your new car a few days before transfer ownership date. Ensure the insurance start-date coincide with the name-transfer date, so that the road tax duration is the same too.

4) To do JPJ transfer from a sdn bhd, the seller will need to provide all these photocopied documents (certified true) Borang 9 / SSM, Borang 49, directors' resolution, directors' i/c photocopy, etc. The company secretary will usually do this and they know what other forms to prepare, as it depends on the sdn bhd.

5) At JPJ, if there is a loan/bank name on the geren letter, make sure JPJ cancels it first. This is to avoid confusion that the loan was under the previous owner, and not you (a cash-buyer)

6) At JPJ, just fill up a form transfer ownership form. Since this is a sdn bhd, the seller needs the company chop/stamp on the form. Director may or may not be present (refer to secretary). In my case, director was present and IC was validated at the JPJ counter. There will be a RM100 fee imposed to transfer the name.

7) [optional] Buy new road tax for the car at while at the JPJ counter (same counter as changing ownership), so road tax and insurance validity is the same. Cost of road tax is stated on the geren letter.

Total Cost : ~RM 230

Dear all bros,

Im quite conbfusing with the JPJ name change and Bank procedure.

Im buying a car from direct wner thru hire purchase ( loan ).

We never hire a runner.

1.Loan already approved ( waiting us to sign )
2.Puspakom Inspection B5/B7 done.
3.I already purchase insurance under my name.

so what do i do next?

Head over to bank sign loan agreement first then only head to JPJ do transfer name, buy roadtax on the spot or?

JPJ first then Bank later?

Kindly advise, this is my first time doing it

Hello sifus, good thread. Hope to get my problem solved here. Hopefully the reply will help others as well
I'm buying a used super bike.

Background information :-
Superbike still has a loan to pay off
Seller wants to interchange number to a new bike he is buying
I am buying cash
I want a specific new number plate as well

Want to ask

1) does the super bike need to go to puspakom for inspection first?
2) how early can I buy insurance for the bike? Can I buy insurance if the bike is not in my name yet? No number plate yet?
3) go Jpj after puspakom check and just change name first can? Later only buy insurance and road tax?
4) how to secure the numberplate I want for the bike? Ask seller's motorbike shop to get for me?
5) any idea how much for a regular 4 digit number
6) what's the procedure to get the loan payed off? Loan is with aeon credit

Hope sifus here can help clarify
Thanks guys

Hi All.
I am the seller. The Buyer want to buy the car with loan. Loan approved.
So the car dealer that the buyer has engaged told me that i (the seller) have to clear my loan first with cash. I have 90k left. no way can settle with cash. If not why i take loan ?
is there such a thing? so how do i proceed ? The car dealer also said that if i want to contra my existing loan with the Buyers loan then i have to pay him a fee. Right now there is no indication of how much this fee is.
How do i go about this?
