Any brothers here can share about these filter, especially the 2nd one link (able to increase HP up to 30)
http://knfilters.com.au/
http://www.knfilters.com/kits.htm

Nowadays, most of the conti cars build low cc (saved road tax $$$)
Example : VW Polo, Passat, Golf (1.2cc-1.8cc) but Turbo Charge
Pug 308, 408 & even their big size bro 508, all 1.6TC
I think if 1.6 package with K&N to increase 30HP worth it?
If 2.0, it can be MPS

What say you guy?

Bro,
Based on the Top 10 list
1) Royal SHELL Dutch
2) Exxon Mobile (In Msia we name it as Esso/Mobil)
3) BHP
4) Sinopac (China Petroleum)
I was made to understand, with Shell, "Anda Boleh Pergi Lebih Jauh" but with Petronas, "Kita Tak Ke Mana-Manapun" because it ll DIRT our engine & fuel really low grade.
Bro, U know what? I purchased Sony projector & get RM120 petronas pre-paid card but I sold at RM80 for CASH & with RM80 I pump Shell. I knew this sound silly but I just DON'T want to DIRT my engine.

Bro,
I understand there are so many term to represent VSC & VSC. Mazda name it as DSC which available in M3 (CBU) but not CKD
That is what I said, Bermaz removed 2 important safety features

Bro,
U are driving 1.6 or 2.0?

1.6 vs 2.0
1) Engine (dif by 400cc), is it make any dif for town drive?
2) Gear Box ( 4 & 5 speed), any difference in normal town drive?
3) Auto Cruise (I don't need it at all)
4) Leather wrap gear knob & steering wheel (I am Not so keen abt this)
5) Air Cond (Manual vs Auto Dimming), what is it actually?
6) Player (single vs 6 changes), Not appreciate it bcoa I ll change to TOUCH SCREEN GPS & Reverse Camera
7) Auto wiper (weird for me)
8) Auto headlamp & Bi-Xenon (I seldom drive at night, in fact town drive not really appreciate this features)
9) Allow Rim (16' vs 17'), both ugly to me (ll modify)
10) Side Air bag (not use it, town drive)
11) Auto fold side mirror (interesting to me)
12) Paddle Shift (I REALLY LOVE THIS)
13) Road Tax Difference by RM290/year (Too bad)
14) Price diff by RM17K++ to RM18K

Benefits of 1.6
1) EZ to sell as diff by RM17k-18k compare 2.0
2) Town use (low FC) & cheap R.Tax (sound silly but fact to consider)
3) This is clearance (dif by RM6k-RM8k), new facelist only at front & rear bumper

Factors to consider for 2.0
1) Many features but only need Paddle shift & auto fold side mirror
2) New facelift come PUSH START for 2.0 & white speed meter (ll be out dated)

DNA Preve + Persona = All New Civic (ll be launch on 19/7/12)
1.8 (RM115k++)
2.0 (RM120k++)
2.0 Full Spec (push start, GPS & Reverse camera)
*
Bro, the side mirror is not auto folding.. It's just electric folding.
You still need to manually press the button to fold the mirror.
Even door brake trigger lock oso dun have.

If you want it to auto fold, you need to bring back to SC to install that feature.
Certain cars, such as Pug 308 is auto..

K&N open pod filter only available for previous gen Mazda 3
Current gen only drop in type available.

For open pod, max increment about 10-15 HP
For drop in type, about 5HP increase my.

It doesn't work that way. U can't compare a filter with a turbo charger. It works differently. Increasing horsepower and adding horsepower also different story... Maybe the filter smoothens your gear shift I doubt what the industry out there, claims that it increase power. On the other hand, the 1.6, Mazda 3 definitely not as powerful as the 2.0 for sure even if you add the filter or not. It just doesn't work that way. If you can afford the 2.0 why not go for it. After all, the road tax only once a year.. But what you get is power and fun. That's my point of view. One thing about turbocharged car and normal engine are... Turbocharged engine tend to be jerky and not smooth to ride or drive whereas normal engine give a more comfortable ride.

Yup bro..agre with u..very different add hp and increse hp..if u need more power better go for 2 liter..but for me 1.6 is enough..then if u like to increse your machine hp better go for vtec machine..lot of part u can change and easy to get many hp for machine..but m3 is handsome car and very nice handling..like u drive neo R3(handling only)

I'm on M3 2.0 HB. 100% city drive full tank rm80 go around 410km. At least 3 times a week sure tekan kaw kaw for fun. If you are looking for Mazda 3 then please don't think much of fuel consumption because seriously u are wasting your time rather than the enjoyment. This car is fun to drive because of the excellent handling. I must say in terms of power not a winner for 2.0 category. If you worry much of fuel consumption then please go for hybrid or like Honda city. They can go as far as 600-800km per tank (rm75). I've been using M3 for 4 months and had never regret since day 1 except if I have extra cash would rather go MPS sad.gif understand your current situation because I had the same problem b4 but after owning one I never look back.

Suggest to go for 2.0 if you planning to keep the car as long as your loan is. Who knows in the future you probably can earn more than you currently can right now and suddenly think "I should have gotten the 2.0". Always look forward bro smile.gif

Good luck!

QUOTE(M3White @ Jul 8 2012, 03:43 PM)
Thanks Bro for the very useful info, it really help me to chose 1.6 vs 2.0
Question
1) Difference price offered to me for 1.6 & 2.0 is about RM17K++, I am still considering
FYI
I mostly ll drive from housing estate (sub-urban) to city (distance 20km before reaching town 10km)
I daily drive to work usually speed is 80km/h-120km/h as it's not really a highway, for 10km distance (70km/h) & another 10km is short highway (100km/h-120km/h), before I reach town (trafic jam) 10km/h (8km distance) to office.

2) At 1st place I though M3 come with a leather seats but only for HB if I am not mistaken.
The M3 leather seats is RM2,800 according to salesman but my friend said if we do it out side (semi leather RM800) & Full leather RM1,500 is it true?

3) If we get normal CD player, they ll rebate RM2k for GPS
Again my friend said, can get outside "dash-build touch screen with GPS & reverse camera" is about RM1,400-RM1,500 (China "A" grade), better isn't it?

4) See these filter
http://knfilters.com.au/
http://www.knfilters.com/kits.htm
It's able to increase by 26HP (mean if 1.6cc at 107HP +30 = 137HP), true?
I am interested on this item, say I booked 1.6 & install this, worth it right?
*
1. 2.0 bro...I have a 2.0 and my colleague has a 1.6..seriously, if you want the zoom zoom factor..go for 2.0. No regrets, if your budget permits that is. It's gonna be at least a 5 year investment...so i'd suggest to go for 2.0. You will feel pretty frustrated with the 1.6 especially going uphill...carrying people. City driving or highway driving.. 2.0!

2. You can get outside leather seats...but it might not complement the interior well...you are at the risk of bad workmanship...I have the ori leather seats and it feels plush and looks good.

3. Ok you can skip the caska player (the one mazda offers), if you are using ipod it doesn't show the album cover and it's just downright unfriendly. Even playing files from the USB is really dumb and cumbersome. And as with all OEM players, the sound quality is poor. You can't even preset radio stations (simple function man). However, if you are going for the China made ones...then I'd say stick to the Caska one...China made ones look cheap and so does the display..the Caska one sits nicely on the dashboard and looks good. So if you want sound quality, beautiful onscreen display but no GPS...then go for a Pioneer double din..

4. K&N filter..i'm thinking about it too...but i heard you have to buy some applicators (not cheap)...and clean the filters with it...so it's troublesome and additional cost. But I do believe it will give you some extra power, that's what other people says anyways.

5. They will offer tinting (don't go for it...outside cheaper, cause SA will earn comm from it), instead go for insurance or if you can get both better la.. My insurance was 3000 plus (NO NCD...acc last year cry.gif ).. So I got Caska player, Leather seats and insurance...good luck in trying to milk them more for it!

To be honest, I did use shell ron 95 and 97 also.. But i dont find any significant difference with petronas.. Perhaps you can test it..

Been used petronas brand for my wife car (national car) for more than 5 years... So far not facing any problem with the engine.. Nevertheless, it's individual choice..

Btw, mine M3 is CBU... It doesn't have DSC also.. i think for Malaysian vesion M3 only MPS have it..
*
I was once in Kuantan & I ask the SHELL Tank driver where he get the Shell petrol.
I am very shock when he said in Petronas Kerteh.
Is it mean, Shell & Petronas do contra biz & advertisement make the fuel difference to us as a consumer.
I believe, East coast Shell & Petronas using same petroleaum due to distant & in west cost, may be Petronas use Shell (from Klang), after all they contra the biz, both of the company ll gain transport cost.
What is the best petrol brand?

What say u?

Bro,
Thanks for your info
Now I am thinking of 2.0 after all but ll see AH LONG ll approved my Loan or Not for 2.0
At 1st place I was thinking 1.6 for 2-3 years usage as I made to understand from this forum, M3 (passenger ll get head spin & uncomfort) due to sport spring for better handling.
If can used up to 5 years, 2.0 is a good investment
By the way,
i) How much your 2.0 (OTR)?
ii) What gift u get?
iii) Do u feel regret if they launched new facelift in Aug 2012 with build in DVD & other features like PUSH Start, White Speed Meter?
Should buy with discount or wait? I am not in hurry as my current Vios TRD is just 24 months
Do u think Dec 2012 or Jan 2013 they ll clear over trade stocks (new facelift) for some better discount?
I dont mind to wait as my Vios also still new (still a virgin bro)

The suspensions for M3 is a bit bumpy i must say...hard. On uneven roads can also be bumpy..
I didn't opt for any cash rebate...like i mentioned i went for the player (built in DVD, leather seats and insurance. Total about 8-9k in savings?
Are you sure it comes with built in DVD? No I don't regret not getting push-start button... I considered it but the savings attracted me more. If it was the Skyactiv engine...then maximum tu lan la...
Your car only 2 years old....aiyoh...just continue to drive it la...car is not a good investment la..I only changed cause i drove my waja for 10 years!! If you can wait even longer...wait for the Skyactiv engine...maybe early next year? and yes, they will probably give more goodies in a few months...New Civic is out soon...so M3 probably wont sell well again...(not that is not good....but being malaysians...all think about resale value and go for honda and toyota...to me....BORING....) erm...no offense to your Vios!

agreed.. the suspension is a a bit "hard" which mean more sporty mode. that's why at high speed and corner the handling so good. i can accept the bumpy feel, and still acceptable. if you change the stock tyre it might give you alot helpful also. smile.gif

Actually, I ve 2 car at home, 1 is TRD & the other 1 is Myvi, both taken end 2010
My friend fetch me with his M3 & I started to like the design as it look like dinasour to me (not many on the road).
Even though my head little spin when I was inside the car, due to the hard spring but the discount attrated me to buy.
In the other hand, I consider
i) If RM7k-8k off, new FL with DVD (deduct RM2k++) & Dec again deduct RM5K, back to square
ii) What is so great of Skyactiv engine? Saved petrol & powerful?
iv) Fiesta 1.6HB (84k) with 6 speed cheaper then M3HB (106k)

I heard this model should come in Malaysia but Bermaz still have the balance of the old engine to assemble in their new FL, once finished then M3 come with skyactiv
How if new Civic not doing well? Bcoz I saw front part, they copy Preve & Rear Part, they copy Persona. Price as below:
1.8 RM115k
2.0 RM120k
2.0 RM130k++ (push start & GPS-DVD)
I dont think ppl ll pay so much money to get sth like Proton

Polo Sedan vs Saga FLX
interisor both same, plastic
Exterior abt the same

Saga FLX Price RM49K + Emblem of VW RM50K = RM99k = Polo Sedan

agreed.. the suspension is a a bit "hard" which mean more sporty mode. that's why at high speed and corner the handling so good.  i can accept the bumpy feel, and still acceptable.  if you change the stock tyre it might give you alot helpful also. smile.gif

What do u mean by change the tyre?

stock tyre is not so good. the noisy easy noticeable at the uneven road. just trade in the stock tyre with GoodYear or Michelin you will enjoy the ride very much smile.gif

better tyres definitely give you more grip at wet and dry condition. the noise level also reduce.

1.8 RM115k
2.0 RM120k
2.0 RM130k++ (push start & GPS-DVD)
I dont think ppl ll pay so much money to get sth like Proton

Polo Sedan vs Saga FLX
interisor both same, plastic
Exterior abt the same

Saga FLX Price RM49K + Emblem of VW RM50K = RM99k = Polo Sedan

Skyactiv, more HP, slightly better FC, and it transmit like a manual (more ommph).

malaysians..are design blind..they will go for brand rather than looks and performance. So Civic will sell pretty ok i think. Actually the PUG 308 turbo is a good and powerful car. Turbocharged engines are just a different class! It's super fun. But since PUG and Mazdas do not have a good 2nd hand value... well u know the rest.
I drove the fiesta sports edition...underpowered but it's only 84k. so it's apple and orange.
Polo Sedan...no way! Polo HB yes way...powerful little thing. Anything with TSI is good! but both interior like proton iswara...
Go for M3 la....no regret! when i sit in my mom's new city to reverse the car out...the interior feels so cheap... then when i get into my m3...it feels like a beemer. The interior is really luxurious for it's class... Fun to drive too! Tiptronic and paddleshift...3 options to play bro!
And moreover...it looks damn good!

Bro,
U mean both 1.6 (M3 & Fiesta)?
M3 only 4 speed whereby Fiesta 6 speed
I though Mazda & Ford technology about the same
