Just hold your lock/unlock button for few seconds.. I'm not sure which one. Mine ckd and the alarm sound just so funny. Like some kids toy melody. It's so midi and low u can't hear it unless u stand at a near distant.

Mine is ckd but I need to press three times the lock button n it sounded quite loud actually.

Hi,
Recently I am follow up closedly on this forum.
I am thinking to buy "C segment car". I tested few car like altis 2.0V, Inspira 1.8
Altis 2.0V is powerful but body quite lite, whereby Inspira, really SUCK!!! (really under power, like running out of fuel)
I am impress of M3 once I read this forum. I don;t really go to test M3 because I HATE when the salesman keep calling me & convince me to buy (disturb).
Can anybody here tell me, should I buy 1.6cc (price is OK to me) but I am scared under power
2.0cc price difference abt RM19k, but what my worries are:
a) High FC as I mostly use in town
b) Difference of Road Tax (RM380-RM90)
c) New facelift with many features like push start, white meter, cosmestic changes & many more.
Another thing is, I heard M3 is very high FC, high maintenance cost (aft free service) & no resell value compared to Civic
I like design of civic & size is bigger compare to M3, but current model is too old, since 2005 & new model copy Proton (Front Preve & Rear Persona).
Any buddy here use 1.6, pls advise me on FC & is it under power?
Also 2.0 user, pls advise me on FC & power compare 1.6
Appreciate your sharing & it ll help me on purchased

Haha... Nobody copies proton. Why would they... The civic launched in other countries long before preve.. But anyway, back to main topic, Mazda 3 fc quite high in my opinion. About 60% town and 40% highway I can go about 330km before the light lights up.

Anyway... Mazda is a fun car! Handling is good.. Handsome and attractive with power and good grips. It's definitely not a family car with small interior.

Thanks Bro for replied!
How I measured FC, example I pump full tank & I press meter to 000.0
after that, 2-3 days later, I pump full tank
Example 100km & topup is RM14.80, mean 14.8km
I friend bought Pug 408 TC, he said average per km is 15 cents
Another friend from Singapore said, previously M3 was popular there untill Singaporean can't accept high FC
I am scared aft GE-13, petrol ll up RM0.30/L

Back to the main issue
I am looking for C segment, thinking to get current Civic 1.8L (RM119k), the model is nice, sporty, low maintenance, low FC & high resell value, but expired (since 2005-2012). Coming model (front Preve, Back Persona).
OK fine, If I wish to get M3, say driving from my house to town (15km), after that stuck in trafic (10km). Sometimes I ll go out station (once in the blue moon, average once a month "50km").
I heard Altis 1.6 under power, some said M3 (1.6) can produce 2.0 power, true?
I am thinking to pay deposit, but I need u guy to advised 1.6 or 2.0, I am affordable to buy any range (1.6 or 2.0) because CIMB around the corner (Bapak Along is there for loan & 9 years some more), but if 1.6 is enough power, Y Pay More, as road tax also high RM380.

Another thing is, I read about K&N filter, 1 of the filter is flat, put inside & the other one is like Honey Comb. It is stated increase 16HP.
Can I say 1.6cc is enough & do some modification to increase power, can saved RM20K & Road Tax (RM380-90=270)
Pls share your knowledge with me
Many Thanks

M3, CBU RM138K but CKD RM124K,
RM14K diffrence because is tax structure & yet price still consider high
Again when I checked spec for M3 CKD, Bermaz add on some accesories which I don;t think is high value in cost but I noticed that 2 safety features being removed, they are:
i ) VTC (Vehicle Trection Control)
ii) VSC (Vehicle Stabilizer Control)
I am sad & dissapointed, Why Bermaz removed that 2 important safety features
Price reduce bcoz of Tax for CKD, understood but some hidden features being removed silently

Any idea on how much to install that 2 features above?

Sound so great Bro,
I like M3 Sedan White color, I don't mind on resell value, because I still believe there ll be some demands from the youngester & low suppliy, so price is still OK compare to cheap Korean car but I am very keen on FC, because by logic Petrol price always up & never down. Aft GE-13, sure up & up

I heard one full tank of M3 can go about 300km, that's scary bro
55L xRM1.80 (Ron 95) = RM99/350km = RM0.282 cents / km, too high

You said u pump RM72 for 500km++ = RM0.144 cents, that is Vios / City FC
What I measured was, fill full tank (really, really full), reset meter to 0.000 & use
later pump petrol again & count
Example, pump full tank & reset meter 0.000, use & pump again after 100km-200km
this calculation is very accurate to measure FC
May be our bro & sis here can try on their 1.6 & 2.0

This is M3 CKD (1.6 & 2.0) website
http://www.autoworld.com.my/v2/newcar/car_...T.AM.VHC.NC.SDN
I am quite sad when Bermaz removed 2 safety features from M3, they are:
i) VSC (Vehicle Stability Control)
ii) VTC (Vehicle Traction Control)
There is no protection of skidded

Thanks Bro for the info,
I ll booked M3 White by next week either 1.6 or 2.0 Hope to get better info from u all
By the way, I heard next month new facelift of M3 (sedan) is coming up, should I buy current model or new facelift
the price difference by RM5k++ I guess
Cosmetic changes are
i) front & real bumper
ii) meter (white) & push start for 2.0

Regards

M3 tank size is 40L only meh....

BTW i use 2.0, 100% city drive (traffic jams is less that 10%) around 10l/100km if 100% highway, down to 7l/100km... combine around 8.8l/100km... u do the math... too lazy to count... after all if too concern over FC, we got Prius/PriusC/Insight/Civic Hybrid/etc etc etc... M3 was inspired with Zoom Zoom... means, just drive... don care abt FC... i record my fuel consumption juz to make sure my car run in normal, if suddenly the FC goes too high, sumting might be wrong and early problem finding can save a lot.

M3 is all about fun drive/handsome look/sporty feel...

regarding VSC/VTC thingy, if u dont put ur car into that situation, no worries as the car handle pretty good d... unless you are entering sharp corner at around 120-200km/j, u should kiss the road bank/lamp post d.... btw i heard soon gov will enforce all car to have this feature... wait and see....

resell value wise, all cars depreciate a lot... it goes back to your liking, if dont want to jeopardize the resell value so much, better get saga or myvi... save money on so many things.

Msia dont have much choice for each segment, all just to secure P1 and P2 business interest... to improve this condition, do your "correct" role during the comin GE13 hehehhe brows.gif Peace...

Thanks buddies for the replied
Very useful infomation
Do u know K&N, there are 2 types
i) flat filter
ii) like bird nest, can see obviously (I saw this it stated can increase +26 HP) is it true?

So, what do u recommend me?
1.6cc or 2.0cc as need to decide soon?
Current model with promotion rebated RM6K-RM8K or wait for new model with 0 discount
Since new facelift launch Aug 2012, I think Dec or Jan 2013, they ll drop RM5k-6k again for over trade car
but is it nice compare to current?

My FC for 1.6M3 CKD has improve after the first service, before that i got about 370km for a RM75.00 refuel. About RM0.20/km, now its better smile.gif My driving condition is basically 75% city n 25% highway. i think ur above calculation of taking 55l multiply RM1.90 is not right cause u will never be able to refill 55l. Mine the fuel indicator up also i refill only RM78.00.

M3 1.6 is not under power especially for city driving, if u r looking for highway its not a problem also to hit 120km/hr unless u r looking at anything beyond 150km/hr.

Thanks Bro for the very useful info, it really help me to chose 1.6 vs 2.0
Question
1) Difference price offered to me for 1.6 & 2.0 is about RM17K++, I am still considering
FYI
I mostly ll drive from housing estate (sub-urban) to city (distance 20km before reaching town 10km)
I daily drive to work usually speed is 80km/h-120km/h as it's not really a highway, for 10km distance (70km/h) & another 10km is short highway (100km/h-120km/h), before I reach town (trafic jam) 10km/h (8km distance) to office.

2) At 1st place I though M3 come with a leather seats but only for HB if I am not mistaken.
The M3 leather seats is RM2,800 according to salesman but my friend said if we do it out side (semi leather RM800) & Full leather RM1,500 is it true?

3) If we get normal CD player, they ll rebate RM2k for GPS
Again my friend said, can get outside "dash-build touch screen with GPS & reverse camera" is about RM1,400-RM1,500 (China "A" grade), better isn't it?

4) See these filter
http://knfilters.com.au/
http://www.knfilters.com/kits.htm
It's able to increase by 26HP (mean if 1.6cc at 107HP +30 = 137HP), true?
I am interested on this item, say I booked 1.6 & install this, worth it right?

Cosmetic changes are
i) front & real bumper
ii) meter (white) & push start for 2.0
Regards

Same with u method i used to measured my fc..i not rempit my m3..just normal driving..

Previously I drive Vios G (2009), in sharp cornering the machine suddently skidded & spin, luckilly I am survival.
That moment onward, I start to studies about VTC & VSC where available in Civic, Altis 1.8G & 2.0V
That feature can stable your car & safe your life
Sad to say Bermaz removed that 2 features in CKD spec & mostly we not aware because covered by the underwear.
M3 Price reduce is not because CKD tax, but they are taking advantage to reduce increase profits
By the way u ppl use RON 95 or 96?
What petrol brand is good for Ron 95?
I heard Petronas not so powerful, by the way I am using Shell Ron95 for my Vios TRD

I am thinking to upgrade from this TRD & start to compare M3 with:
1) New Civic, (front Preve & tail Persona = SUCK)
2) Old Civic (2005-2012 is expired)
3) Altis (uncle car)
4) Forte (2nd grade brand), I don't believe Korean technology, even though nowadays they appointing great designer to design their cars.
5) Pug 408TC tail ugly but 308TC Sedan 1.6Turbo seem to be ok (RM120k), but I am scared of NAZA because I dont think they ll be good in handling service

bro, if you afford to get 2.0, please get 2.0. 1.6 and 2.0 not only different in term of power. The spec also big difference.

the FC is getting better, still able to achieve 400KM+.

the FC is really depend on how you drive your car, i still running 120km/h on highway. and 70% city drive.

today i replace the "Dunlop" tires (trade in) to Michelin PS3. the Dunlop really make rough noise during the rough road. so far the PS3 really good, low noise, good handling as well. rclxms.gif

In my opinion, going back to Mazda is the best choice since they know the wiring diagram but might cost u a bomb.

Or

http://www.easygosystem.com/features.php
So far the most presentable one I have seen together with door handle unlock button,
BUT for Mazda vehicle is only COMING SOON in Q4 this year...

I think for mazda the VTC/VSC called as DSC. Same as u, I prefer if M3 is equipped with the system eventough price maybe increased... Unfortunately we couldn't.. But still I have decided to get the M3 & no regret with it...

i used ron 95.. Before this sometime i used Ron 97.. But I don't see much different in term milage and power.. So nowadays, just stick with Ron 95 from Petronas...

Bro,
Based on the Top 10 list
1) Royal SHELL Dutch
2) Exxon Mobile (In Msia we name it as Esso/Mobil)
3) BHP
4) Sinopac (China Petroleum)
I was made to understand, with Shell, "Anda Boleh Pergi Lebih Jauh" but with Petronas, "Kita Tak Ke Mana-Manapun" because it ll DIRT our engine & fuel really low grade.
Bro, U know what? I purchased Sony projector & get RM120 petronas pre-paid card but I sold at RM80 for CASH & with RM80 I pump Shell. I knew this sound silly but I just DON'T want to DIRT my engine.

Bro,
I understand there are so many term to represent VSC & VSC. Mazda name it as DSC which available in M3 (CBU) but not CKD
That is what I said, Bermaz removed 2 important safety features

Bro,
U are driving 1.6 or 2.0?

1.6 vs 2.0
1) Engine (dif by 400cc), is it make any dif for town drive?
2) Gear Box ( 4 & 5 speed), any difference in normal town drive?
3) Auto Cruise (I don't need it at all)
4) Leather wrap gear knob & steering wheel (I am Not so keen abt this)
5) Air Cond (Manual vs Auto Dimming), what is it actually?
6) Player (single vs 6 changes), Not appreciate it bcoa I ll change to TOUCH SCREEN GPS & Reverse Camera
7) Auto wiper (weird for me)
8) Auto headlamp & Bi-Xenon (I seldom drive at night, in fact town drive not really appreciate this features)
9) Allow Rim (16' vs 17'), both ugly to me (ll modify)
10) Side Air bag (not use it, town drive)
11) Auto fold side mirror (interesting to me)
12) Paddle Shift (I REALLY LOVE THIS)
13) Road Tax Difference by RM290/year (Too bad)
14) Price diff by RM17K++ to RM18K

Benefits of 1.6
1) EZ to sell as diff by RM17k-18k compare 2.0
2) Town use (low FC) & cheap R.Tax (sound silly but fact to consider)
3) This is clearance (dif by RM6k-RM8k), new facelist only at front & rear bumper

Factors to consider for 2.0
1) Many features but only need Paddle shift & auto fold side mirror
2) New facelift come PUSH START for 2.0 & white speed meter (ll be out dated)

DNA Preve + Persona = All New Civic (ll be launch on 19/7/12)
1.8 (RM115k++)
2.0 (RM120k++)
2.0 Full Spec (push start, GPS & Reverse camera)

To be honest, I did use shell ron 95 and 97 also.. But i dont find any significant difference with petronas.. Perhaps you can test it..

Been used petronas brand for my wife car (national car) for more than 5 years... So far not facing any problem with the engine.. Nevertheless, it's individual choice..

Btw, mine M3 is CBU... It doesn't have DSC also.. i think for Malaysian vesion M3 only MPS have it..
