Came across this thread.....with an amusing subject title (wondering what he wanted to have removed).
From my own experience, I think it is due to the unnecessary pressure we men put on ourselves to meet our own expectation to satisfy women and perform better on the bed.
When we first started even if I were to grade my own performance, it was subpar but nevertheless I was reassured that I was doing alright. Soon I stopped creating unnecessary expectation on myself, my performance improved and leap further when I started other physical activities like weight lifting and running. My stamina improved and I could last much longer too.
I believe and personally feel that physical exercises keep my comfortable cardiovascular activity level in a higher range, as in I can go aggressive longer without having to keep up with my breathing as my body is comfortable with my higher heart beat rate. I did not read any article on this but I believe that the body only have so much amount of blood. If my heart and my breathing is comfortable, my blood will stay where it should stay rather than retracting back to my heart to provide me more oxygen. Of course, I think anxiety and stress also provide unnecessary higher heart rate.
I did consider such options like you mentioned but I fear of the harm I put my body through so I never did.
Of course, initially the unnecessary pressure mainly came from watching such materials as I compared my own performance with what I now believe to be scripted and probably edited to fulfill necessary screening hours.
