I hv updated my S2 to 2.3.6, but unable to connect KIES now ... may i proceed to ROOT it?

after re-installing KIES must reboot PC?

Tried using other computer. No news of success... same message "Zerglings did not leave interesting stuff".

I almost giv up here.

what happen to urs? my phone can't connect to pc~

My case is I tried to root, but not successful even i followed the steps. Not sure why. I posted my log in previous page, do have a look if u are able to assist me.

For your case, i think is it because you are still enabling your USB Debug mode? Please disable it the first time you want to connect to KIES (pc). Else, uninstall and re-install before rooting.

1.Install KIES to your pc
2.Plug in usb to your pc to connect to KIES - this will allow the Samsung driver to install (PLEASE DO NOT DO IT IN USB DEBUG MODE)
3.Close/Exit KIES (Check Task Manager if you fully close the application)
4.Set your USB Debugging mode at your device (settings>applications>development)
5.Run DoomLord RUNME.bat (follow as per instruction on first page).

Good luck in your rooting.

You tried DoomLoRD easy rooting v3? And when you exiting Kies, are you

just exit it from the taskbar? Did you check if there is any other Kies

related process/processes still running through task manager? Because as

I remembered, KiesPDLR.exe process will continue running in the

background even you exit Kies from the taskbar. And on my setup/pc,

adb.exe process is also running and I terminated it.

can somebody here help me how to root my SGS2 2.3.6? thanks in advance..i not really understand the instruction..

other KIES program in task manager i terminated it, except the adb.

adb.exe i didnt terminate. i will try this now... hope it works.

DoomLoRD easy rooting v3 <= u guys encountered the yellow triangle?

KiesPDLR.exe..KiesTrayAgent.exe?..runme.bat as admin?

Terminate all KIES. Yes run as admin. It is required for Vista/7 OS.

how do you ensure runme.bat running as admin?

No need use such a complicate method. just install Hellcat tool - few second backup and restore

You can use that tool on GT-i9100G? I tried it but it said that my phone isn't SGSII!!! I cannot run the tool on my SGSII! I used the latest that I downloaded from the market (v1.24 I believe). Can you give me the link to the working kTool that you use?? Thanks in advance.

The Efs Pro is a very good program too. It can save to your phone sdcard or to your pc. You can try it also

Already running as admin. Still no success story. I gave up...

ya, unchecked the usb debug, my pc unable to find the driver , kies no response too, so pc can't read S2 as remote drive. need wipe??

if you just update your firmware from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6, best solution is to factory reset your device. I did that, and it works.

then will lost everything in my S2? how to factory reset?
