I bought my phone in China.
Which of my problems should the factory reset solve ?
Will it suddenly show me 'Android Market' ?
Cause from what I understand, the Chinese version DOES NOT HAVE the market on purpose.

Go to forum XDA /or search on web and google for this zip file which contains the default Google apps: gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
EXtract the file and install the market apk by copying it to /system/app ( you need to be rooted ) or you can just flash this zip through recovery. Install Chainfire CWM to do this

after root me have another question, how to flash CWM for Samsung Galaxy SII I9100G 2.3.6?
because when i install from the ROM Manager, only Samsung Galaxy Si9000 can select from the rom manager.
*
ROM Manager is not fully compatible with SGS II. Use it at your own risk. You might be able to do a backup but restoring your backup usually will fail. It is still best to use a dedicated CWM meant for the SGS II

No need use such a complicate method. just install Hellcat tool - few second backup and restore

Use HellCatDroid tool - just download and install kTool.apk file. Launch the app and select your choice : http://f.lui.li/get_99_f13d.html

ok guys, I'm so confused in rooting and flashing kernal, ROMS and stuffs.
Here's my phone info:
Baseband - I9100GDZKJ2
Kernal - 2.6.35.7 se.infro@SEI-30#2
Model - GT-I9100G

Can I use this guide to root my phone? cuz my kernal version is different from what the guide has. Need help. wink.gif
*
Sure - that is why TS started this guide. Use Zergrush exploit if you worry about kernel. Anyway you will still need to have kernel chain of you decide to take it one step further to have CWM installed
Download user creezalird excellent guide and READ IT FIRST before proceeding

hi there i am new at s2 rooting..just wanna ask if any of u guys here ever tried and used the "usb jig"...here is my question,is the jig compitible to be use on 'G' version or its only for non 'G' version
*
The USB JIG works on the G version. Just tested it few days ago on one user whose G Model was bricked and he came to see me to solve it

Change to:
| Lo-Fi Version
0.0403sec    0.39    7 queries    GZIP Disabled
