Creezalird, correct me if i'm wrong, but with those new unrootable roms, i think that a downgrade with an install of cwm could allow to install any custom rom / stock rom without the actual need of rooting once it's done ? With a fully working stock rom / custom rom, i see less and less the bemefit from a permanent root ...
Not saying that for me, but rather to give some advices to newcommers with some newer roms ...
*
yeah, kind of actually, as long as u have CWM, it is easier.

but some people prefer to have only rooted stock rom, not custom rom, and stock rom can not be flashed using CWM, it is only Odin or Kies flashable.

but if u read around, mobile odin from chainfire is supporting i9100G right now, so we can flash any stock rom from inside the phone and if u paid for the pro version, we can even automatically root the rom during flashing and this is all without introducing any void of warranty..cool right..

Really interresting.
The only thing that truely keeps me away from CWM is the difficulty to uninstall it, i don't want to have anything non stock on this part of the phone that i can't remove, that's why i never tried custom rom.

And well, i like touchwiz, might sound dumb, but that's true, i tried go laucher, i tried a few themes, but i really like touchwiz ...

I'm currently looking for backup solutions, want to save everything, apps, messages etc ... but i don't want to be tied to an app for that, if you have any clue how it is organised, i'm a bit lost in the structure ...
*
Mobile Odin doesnt required u to have CWM as far as i know, i am myself about to experiment with the Pro version tonight, waiting for the firmware to finish downloading, going to test the Germany firmware.

Actually custom rom or CWM is very much easy to remove. Actually everything is easy as long as u don't increase the binary counter as it can only be removed using usb jig, but still removable.

I am sticking with Go Launcher with Suave HD theme, looks fine for me.

Regarding backup, I am simply using Titanium Backup Pro. Not really sure for specific app and do it manually, I think Titanium Backup Pro is more than enough for everything.

hi there
same problem. i tried with the memory crash method, can't work either ...
firmware is KL3
any other way to successfully root ?
*
if u read properly every posts or recent posts,

i have mentioned 2-3times that KL3 and later CANNOT be rooted using doomlord

either downgrade to KJ2 or relevant OR just flash rooted kernel (warranty void)

please read around first before asking, some people just don't know how to read and want the easy way.

i have provided a good guide and even that some people dont want to read..jeez..

Ok Creezalird, i wait your feedback on mobile odin with german rom, might be the good solution for me.
As well as titanium backup pro, my main problem is my current lack of ways to pay for ( sounds weird, but unfortunately true at the moment). I tried other ways to get it, but unstable, that's why i do not use it atm ...
*
just flashed LA1 using Mobile Odin Pro with Everroot.

and so far so good, no hang or what so ever, but maybe because I have removed all useless apps..lols

currently running it stock and just rooted per Everrroot. easy, much easier than doomlord, just u need to be rooted at first. thats all.

lack ways to pay?? u meant u could not pay for the apps? well, there is xxx-ed version..lols

so LA1, i will be sticking with this rom, the kernel seems to be clocking almost at 800mhz all the time, but without introducing lagginess to interface and also to my game. I assumed battery life will be much great with this kernel.

u should try it, just use Mobile Odin Pro. easy. Pro, not Lite version. as Lite doesnt support Everroot

What OS are you running on your pc ? Windows ( which one ? XP/Vista/7) or Linux ?
As far as i can tell, Es file explorer is one of the best i know, and is the one i use, although i didn't try Windows file sharing with it, you can add a samba file server in Es file explorer and scan seems to be supported.
For your information, in case you do not know, samba is the open source version of windows file sharing for Linux, a pc running Linux would rather searsh for an nfs file sharing.

I just tried to access my pc through wifi using Es file explorer, works like a charm smile.gif

Oh Creezalird, i tried Google Music, really simple indeed, the gui is nice, thanks for the advice dude !
By the way, i'm looking for a really efficient way to tagg my mp3, tired of having albums splitted on my phone.
I'm trying Itag for android, but it's only half good so far ... A lot of mistakes sad.gif
*
regarding the tag, i am also searching one before, but gave up, just use the pc version. much easier

i use mp3 tag&rename.

Well i finally got a Titanium Backup pro running, your feedback seems quite good on KL1, i have to check what version is available for france, i'd rather use a rom which is in my native language than german tongue.gif

I would add that mobile odin pro require an micro sd card, might be useful to mention for people here, as when i did root my phone, i didn't have an sd card yet ...

Oh and i just read on description, your phone MUST BE ROOTED BEFORE YOU INSTALL MOBILE ODIN PRO.
Sorry for caps and color, but this way further asks might be avoided ...
So first root with doomlord method, then install mobile odin pro with everroot, then flash with mobile odin pro, and from what i quickly read, KL1 is the last version that seems to be rootable with everroot ...

It's only logic, but so many people rush without reading (i love the oldie RTFM) then complain that i think a quick reminder is needed tongue.gif
*
at last, it is working for u..

i think u just use the LA1, eventhough it is german, the language supports still cover almost all europe languages, in ur case france, i just checked.

and france version seems to be a bit outdated compared to german, so go for the german firmware.

eventhough i can read and speak germans, i still use english..lols

one wrong here, mobile odin DOES NOT require external micro sdcard, just did mine without one.

and what with this KL1, i think u read wrong somewhere. lols

german rom name : I9100GXXLA1_I9100GDBTKL2_I9100GXXKL4_HOME.tar.md5

I try quite a lot MP3 tagg, so far the best is Audio Tagger. It not only support MP3, but support as well MP4 format.(support both m4a & m4p extention).

Beside this, it also support on direct searching and download album cover from Discogs and Amazon.

just wanna say thanks to the bro creezalird. ur guide, post, time, effort is much appreciated.

im very new to androids, and have spent lots of time reading up on all this roms, kernels, odins, firmwares etc etc etc.

finnaly im rooted, superatmos 2.1. planning to use superRomV2, but im doing the battery calibration thing now.
*
glad it helped u...
which method are u using for battery calibration? because there are some debates saying that sgs2 variants need no oldschool battery calibration like htc or others as sgs2 has a built in battery calibration circuit.

why dont u try galaxyrom 4.1? u need to ask from the fb group link from my pdf

normally i just use mine normally and after 2-3 days it will behave again normally.

I didn't try the european rom yet for the reason that the gps software installed in china is specific to china and i don't want to lose it, any risk in the update to lose it ? In case of update/wipe those stock country side software get reinstalled when you revert update ?
*
what gps software installed? stock? i almost removed everything stock except for vital ones..lols

yes, u will loose everything else, flashing new rom is just like changing clothes, you are still you and have all the functions..

so just install another gps software then, i heard papago x5 also has a very good maps for china and it is offline maps.

by reverting, like changing clothes, u could not revert easily, u need to change clothes..lols

so if u change ur clothes back to china, so u will get back all the stock china..easy and simple..

HELP:

After I flashed my S2 with insecure kernel using Ordin, not the device won't boot up. It always showed the triangle mark, anyone experienced this?
*
and who the hell asked u to flash the insecure kernel? of course u have that yellow triangle, because insecure kernel is not signed from samsung.

if u are using i9100g, follow my pdf guide in my signature, the first page guide is outdated.

Bro creezalird, thinking of venturing into the realm of flashing now. What kernel would you recommend to be paired up with DJKJ2? I'm happy with the stock ROM,just need a boost in the battery department, lol.

Also, mind telling me your set up? Thankies bro!
*
i cant really recommend one, but some stable like superatmos 2.1 or even lucifr 1.22(i think), but safe case, use superatmos 2.1, tested and reliable so far.

and dont use KJ2, it is outdated, people nowadays are swearing with the german rom LA1.

see my guide as i updated it recently, with a cover page even..losl

The gps installed is a dedicated samsung app, app itself can be turned to english, map is in chinese, and it's a car gps like tomtom gps in europe ... So quite good indeed ...
I'll give a try to papago.
I guess that since my account sor samsung apps is chinese as well, maybe can try to do the switch. Have to find a few hours free to do the backup and everything.
Congratulations on your marriage Creezalird, i'm also married, but i have a 1 year old kid too, free time ? Can you remind me the meaning ? tongue.gif
And thanks for your answer by the way !
I'm the kind of guy to check/verify things a hundred times before making such changes tongue.gif
I'll double check this week on chinese forums to see what they say on that, there is a litle chance that the software might only be installed in factory, but not available on rom, that's why i was asking ...
Oh by the way, i tried something this evening, and it appears that it's nearly impossible to do, bluetooth modem doesn't work, apparently, Samsung don't give working drivers for that.
*
what did u tried? u didnt mentioned it clearly?
anyway, flashing rom is actually a very safe procedure considering u read and follow my guide properly smile.gif

I don't use it anymore, i sync my contacts with google.
Truth is an android phone don't need a computer at all, except for backups.
I tried the bluetooth connection within Kies, i was just curious to see it running, it doesn't ...
And tethering with bluetooth fail aswell, no bluetooth modem available, bluetooth networking, same result. Only thing you can do is.send or receive files.

that is why even my laptop is broken, i can still do almost everything from flashing to hacking..lols

Can the LA1 ROM be rooted using Doomlord's method? Thanks bro!  smile.gif

read my guide u stupid tongue.gif

i put everything in there..even how and wno here to download rom

no misconception, it is just timid and too cautious people keep saying that..

lols, i am running it perfectly on my phone, even just using stock kernel..

flashing it using mobile odin pro, if u are rooted.

if u are not, flash normally using odin.

say no further, my updated pdf guide has everything, even updated file links.
