bro , the usb i means i charger . . it auto turned on my phone..
flashing stock kernel means flash whole stock rom rite?
*
not really, i am not sure how bad ur situation.

u said it is only fault at lucifr kernel right?

so just flash any other rooted kernel, but u will get binary counter of course
i am using superatmos 3.0, very nice, simple and close to stock

if u are avoiding binary counter, u can flash back stock kernel only.
either u download from somewhere or made the tar for zimage urself.

it is not necessary in this case to flash rom, just flash kernel.

the page i can find 2 stock kernel only.. those file is tar that use odin to flash rite?
the dzkl3 will make my phone no root acess? cz my last stock dzkl2.. xxla1 i no hear before..

Tick USB debugging (settings->Applications->Development), if unticked before
- Tick Unknown sources (settings->Applications)
- Run Odin, connect phone with usb cable, yellow COMx will be shown in Odin
- Re-partition should not be ticked (no pit file is required here)
- Select PDA button, choose the downloaded kernel file (usually a .tar file)

i not sure my usb development untick or ticked as i jz flash my rom ytd n kernel also..
*
are these steps from my guide? i think u have my old version of guide in which i made an error with the step there, go download the latest one from my signature.

for flashing odin, no need to care about usb debugging or unknown sources as u will be in odin mode

by flashing stock kernel, usually u will lose root access

yup.. ur old guide.. i forgotten which nid tick biggrin.gif
oh.. dint think about it..
but the dzkl3 unrootable with crash rite? maybe i flash back to dzkl3 then charge full n flash again to dzkl2 rom + kernel.. and start all over with doomlord etc T.T
*
haha, if u want to start all over again, i have a recommendation of what i did.

flash fully back rom KJ2 or KK1 as long as it is rootable by doomlord, root it using doomlord.

install mobile odin pro, flash XXLA1 using the Everroot option.

now u have latest rom LA1 with stock LA1 and rooted.

now u can either flash rooted kernel with mobile odin pro or stay with stock LA1

i flashed mine with superatmos 3.0 just to get cwm support.

clean and simple. i did it in less than 20min..

and all steps are briefed in my latest guide..check it out..

haha i am damn lazy to do this all.. i have 5 assignment need to do and 3 midterm for next week.. i dont have those apps, file u mention.. i stop touching custom kernel n rom around 1month already hehe.. if i go back stock i will use kl2 cz the file in my pc and i have doomlord..

i will flash again to superatmos 3.0 now hehe..
u now using xxla 1 rom? wad diff?
*
LA1 is very battery friendly as it will always try to deep sleep the cpu all the time and saving battery.
Bugs are also mostly fixed and almost never hang compared to old version.

some simple UI changes like icons and lockscreen are also implemented in LA1

so far this is the best and stable version i have encountered

i see.. i jz tested rc rom ytd.. and flash lucifer..flash both in same time..
i found out kinda lag sometimes especially beginning after unlock..
then long abit its ok.. maybe because of those governor implemented..

now jz flashed superatmos 3.0.. and i read up 2.1.1 with 3.0 same feature.. i dont understand some stuff..
they say kernel its just like brain, rom body..
so if 3.0 use on stock rom xxla its better than using on other rom? lol..

did u use any tweak stuff like voltage control ?
*
kind of, but if einsteins brain were to put inside our cranium, i dont think i can manage the brain.lols

no, i am not using any, i did limit the cpu freq using JD, and setting the io scheduler to noop using init.d scripts.

so far so good, even though benchmark quite low, but i knew it that because the battery saving is in action and as long as i play game like zenonia4 without lag..it is ok for me smile.gif

i see.. JD= juice defender? i jz put extreme mode . . cz advance i set it but i dun feel its efficient.. and still got wakelock..

superatmos kernel compatible for using voltage control rite?
how to check it out the kernel can use those tweaking stuff? cf root ?
now i using 4.1 feel like flashing back 2.0.. i with my friend encounter some lagging issue recently.. and i cant play mp3.. so end up flash rom hehe..
haha, i stop play zenonia these 2 week.. i play till lv 50+ haha kinda addictive..
*
yep, even stock also can use voltage control, it just hotplug default seems to have its own management which always change the speed itself, thats why i just left it and limit using jd, beside jd can re-limit the cpu speed everytime

nothing really cf-root, it is just a term getting root..but if u can use cwm manager without problem, so u are cf-rooted..lols

with LA1, so far i never experienced lagginess or even hang

i am just at 40..lols..

guys,

i tried flashing superRom juts now, so i downloaded V1.0. the guide says i need to extract the zip file.

v1.0:

Download rom from the link below.
Extract the zip. You will find a folder.
    Copy the folder to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
    Go to CWM recovery
    Go to backup/restore option
    Select SuperROM_v1.0_I9100G

but when i extract it says some file error. so i did the creezalird way, paste the whole zip file, boot into recovery select the zip, it comes up with an error.not sure what im doing wrong here
*
my question is, why do u want to flash 1.0 version? that one is really outdated and even the dev still learnt on how to create flashable file.

i suggest u get another rom, like galaxyrom or dark rom or homam g v3, these are recently updated.

Hi, actually you are using which firmware?

Is that I9100GXXLA1? Open Germany firmware?

I found I9100GXWLA1  seems just release on Feb, 2012, but it is from India, did you try before? But the size smaller compare with German one.
*
i am using the open germany one, actually i think it will not differ much from the india version.
i only tried the german version so far.

you guys referring to LA1 = XXLA1 right?

currently im on DZKL3, if i wanna change to XXLA1, just download the tar file and flash with Odin, then flash superatmos 3 via odin also, then flash the XXLA1 with odin again to remove yellow triangle. am i on the right path.
*
if u are rooted, u can use mobile odin pro
if u are not, u can either get rooted easily by flashing rooted kernel (void warranty, need usb jig)
or u can downgrade rom and root using doomlord and use mobile odin pro afterthat.

all in my guide like Andrewtst said.

yes, we are referring to XXLA1

thanks guys.

assuming i dont used mobile odin pro..i can also use the odin from pc. this will be the steps.

1. download stock firmware XXLA1 from XXLA1 provided by bro andrew.

2.flash stock firmware XXLA1 with odin V1.83(via pc)

3.Flash superatmos 3.0 to get rooted via Odin

4.Flash any custom ROM i like SUperROM2.0, Galaxy ROMRC3, or Homam via CWM.

5.Once done, flashback stock firmware via ODIN to remove yellow riangle.

6. Use USB jig reset binary counter.

7.Done.

Sifu's please correct me if im right or wrong, even though there is an easier way its ok, this is the way im comfortable with, and feel its quite easy for me. just want assurance that what im doing is right just to make sure i dont get my self in deep s**t with a bricked phone.

thanks bros
*
u have many wrong steps there.

may i ask what the end output u need? stock rom with root OR custom rom?

for ENDING with stock rom LA1 (with usb jig)
1. Flash stock rom LA1 with Odin
2. Flash superatmos 3.0 with Odin
3. Reboot, everything should be working
4. Flash resetable bootloader (old bootloader) using Odin
5. Use USB jig to reset yellow triangle and binary counter.
6. Done

for ENDING with custom rom (with usb jig)
1. Flash stock rom LA1 with Odin (actually any stock rom also possible)
2. Flash superatmos 3.0 with Odin
3. Reboot, everything should work
4. Flash any custom rom using CWM
5. Reboot and everything should be working
6. Flash resetable bootloader (old bootloader) using Odin
7. Use USB jig to reset yellow triangle and binary counter.
8. Done

for ENDING with stock rom LA1 (without usb jig)
1. Flash stock rom KJ2/KK1 or older with Odin
2. Root using doomlord
3. Install mobile odin pro
4. Flash stock LA1 using mobile odin pro and with Everroot (wipe is recommended)
5. Done

ps : i am just phrasing the steps basic, for more details, please refer to my guide. and please download the latest one if u are using the old one.

CWM : can flash custom rom only with packaged as zip
Odin : can flash stock rom only / some kernel/bootloader/modem with packaged as tar
Mobile Odin Pro : can flash like normal Odin but can recognize not only tar, but also some file directly like sbl.bin,zImage,modem.bin

rooted with LA1, stock kernel, antutu score 4968 using mobile odin

will i get better score if using superatmos kernel?
*
depends on how u set the cpu and io scheduler.

and know this, antutu scores are not very much reliable, it is how u feel and how u use ur phone, as long as it is smooth and reliable, more than enough. and know this, usually with higher antutu scores, normally battery drain also higher.

again bro creezalird, thanks alot for ur help and reassurance.

im now running on xxla1 with superatmos 3.0.

donwloading galaxyrom 4.0-with 4.1 fix @ 80% now. smile.gif

will flash this custom rom and test it out for a week and see how it goes.

thanks alot bro for making my android experience a stress free one  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif
*
glad it helped.

just one more last note, i am not sure if u are aware or not, but some other people seems to be confused about this.

if u flashed any rom on the current rom, it will replace the current rom.

for example, u are running stock LA1, then u flashed GalaxyRom RC4 (based on KL3 maybe, if i am not mistaken), now u will be running KL3 aka Galaxyrom RC4, not LA1 patched with Galaxyrom RC4

some people thought that custom rom is something like a patch, but custom rom is actually a full working rom and it has different base and version.

hope now it clears.

shocking.gif ohhhhh.... that i didnt know.

ok, so assuming now i want to stay on LA1, i need to only maintain superatmos 3.0 kernel

but if i get galaxyrom RC4 ill be back to KL3 again.

now im not sure what to do, basing on what you and andrew are saying remaining on superatmos 3.0 with LA1 is the best ? can share why you prefer this compare to customr roms like RC4, or superRom2.0? so far i thought wanna try those roms
*
i prefer to use stock as i am modding it myself, so at least i know what to mod and what i removed.

if i use custom rom, sometimes dev removed something that i want to use and vice versa.

i never tested any of those custom rom, but honestly, if u are really new and using many stock samsung, just stay with stock especially LA1, just use superatmos 3.0, it is more than enough already.

just my 2cents.

I'm sorry i'm a little bit less present today, dinner with my boss tonight, and still have wife/baby/grandmother at home, and i'm actively following facebook group.

Creezalird, i did install Mobile Odin Pro, Titanium Backup Pro, in the process to backup everything, and it's quite long and painfull to be certain i don't forget anything ... where are the apps  data stocked, like sms, calendar(no google calendar available), note and so on ?
Is everything in /sdcard or are there other stuff on root folder ?
I miss the /home linux thingy :'(
*
are u backing up the whole rom using TBP? it is recommended to batch backup only data app first, after that batch backup selected sytem app, like messaging, calendar and so on. As you are not requiring the whole system backup, just selected ones.

everything will be backed up to a titanium backup folder inside sdcard(internal) not external.

erm, i want last out put xxla1 with superatmos 3.0 without increasing my binary counter. .

-usually i flash dzkl2
-root with doomlord
- ktool (flash custom kernel)
-cwm (flash custom rom)

this wont increase binary counter.
this ur step mentioned early.
about mobile odin pro i never use before.. will this apps increase binary when u flash custom/unsecure ?

now my phone is using rc 4.1 > ics rebuild mod > superatmos 3.0

can i flash from this state to xxla1 via mobileodinpro
and flash (themes) ics rebuild mod?
about kernel i jz use ktool n flash it again
*
read few posts back and read my guide, i have mentioned it.

i wont comment about themes as i hate flashing themes, too many unknown possibilities can occured

if u read my guide properly, i have said every advantages and disadvantages for every steps, just read ok. and if not, u can read from the thread itself.

rc4 really didnt like it,didnt feel smooth and felt like a bit messy.

superROM2.0 was nice, but got some bugs, like cant delete the songs in music player, my gf was really unhappy with this, so no choice revert back.
*
like i said, stick to stock rom, remove any app u dont want, tweak a bit around, done. much better..lols
