Is there any hardware difference between V1 and V2 or is it just firmware and cosmetics?

It's just a driver package and some modification on the code
Whether TP-Link want to release or not we don't know

But base on past record, TP-LINK excel in customer support, they even release a firmware update just to cater Malaysia Unifi

No people knows whether TP-LINK want to release it

Since 4G support just need some change in the script for the connection protocol + drivers in the router
