your area RSSI= 55~65

my area RSSI=93 and yet i can touch 23~29 ms, on a HW550 default FW, no OpenWRT, no Antenna , no fan , no stripping , no cooler pad ,

Imagine if i bring my HW550+Cat6E to your place, can i get <20ms ?

I was trying to drive home the point that a HW550 + CAT6e LAN cable on a RSSI of -93dBm can get a ping of between 23~29 , why can it go lower if the RSSI is 55~65 dBm ? All these is without OpenWRT, No Cooling Pad, No Fan blowing, No Modem and Router stripping, No cool mountain air , No Antenna. 

You cant say NO, when you have not tested my setup in your area.

I am trying to say that HW550 can achieve it. You try what ever means with your MR3420 and show me a ping of 23~29 , then i say that MR3420 is much better 

I even give you the handicap of you having a more superior RSSI compared to my jeeby RSSI of -93dBM compared to yours of -55dBm and a lousy speedtest of

Now with OpenWRT, I can also use Tunlr.net with the DNSMasq (DNS Forwarding) function so I can stream video or audio from U.S.-based on-demand Internet streaming media providers 

Stock firmware can be good but its limited. The manufacturers decide the price point based on what router you buy and a lot of them have the same hardware but they'll limit them via the firmware. Cheaper router, crappier firmware. 

Third party firmware such as OpenWRT or DD-WRT unlocks the full potential of a router by utilizing every aspect of the hardware capabilities.

The first time I thought of flashing to another firmware is when I wanted to stream US Only content easier using DNS Forwarding. Without DNSMasq, I would have to change my DNS every time I wanted to stream the content
Tried DDWRT but at that time, it wasn't really working with e353...or maybe I was just too lazy to troubleshoot 

Assuming you're using OpenWRT like in the #1 post,

1) Login to 192.168.1.1
2) Go to Network > DHCP & DNS > DNS Forwardings
3) [attachmentid=3151195]
4) Save & Apply
5) Reboot router
6) Check status @ http://tunlr.net/status/  (make sure you added /tunlr.net/184.82.222.5  @ Step #3)
