you refering to how to connect Panel to ZTE MF680 in naked form ?
then External antenna is there, u dont need the cover casing hole,. just connect your Panel with TS-9 cnvertor, then straight cucuk saja only

I'm eyeing this:
TP-Link TL-WDR4300 OpenWRT wiki page here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr4300 No one tested with 3G yet.
seems like a great target to replace 1043ND
External Power Supply = 12VDC / 1.5A

nice product with 2 USB ports. Can easily do load balancing and failover without additional hardware.
what's the expected price?
wow Openwrt Load balance confirm working in a blink and amazing effect,.
dual usb port is really a catch,..
now the price is

In your Opinion, which router which can support 3G USB Modem which is Value for Money and is DDWRT friendly (free licence DDWRT one la ) and is powerful enough ?
How do u come to the conclusion that 1043ND is underpower, Output = 2A ?
the 1043ND usb port have under power issue,
not the mobo in router, the usb port issue,.
that's why strongly not suggested

I actually don't feel it too but the USB cannot drive my modem properly, easily D/C compared to MR3420 or PC
P/S mine is 1043ND V1.8
can always consider 4300 for sure

I'll check what version is mine tonight. Have you tested it with the USB Y-cable to supply more power to the modem like Chuah was using last time? If it's the same, it might not be power issue already.
Sell it cheap cheap to me if you intend to let go.
cheap cheap
get 4300 and see
should be a lot better than 1043ND

it's more than 200 leh.. i'm quite content with another 1043ND, just need it for local wireless network. Not planning to use 3G modem with it.
oh, though the 4300 is dual wifi band with 3 external antenna

I am having problem setting DNS to my MR3420 only able to set primary but unable to set secondary. Is it normal to have 3 DNS?
[attachmentid=3145501]
u need to click the circle part then u can enter second set DNS

just share with you something weird.
as you know i just bought a powerful fan and manage to keep both the modem and router at room temperature.
somehow, i found that when the speed are lower (1-3mbps)when i on the fan, and higher (5-10mbps) when i turn the fan off.
not sure whether is coincidence or what....... is that possible ?
nope, that's quite impossible,
just make sure the router + modem is not been moved or vibrate shifted a bit,.
u need to find perfect spot

since v2 had released , should I get it rather than v1 ? any known issue on v2 ?
well it is up to personal choices,
some user feed back V2 is barely even warm, so temperature wise confirm is winner

Found out the best Setup in my area is like this :
i open the router top cover, upside down it on top of aluminium cooler pad and open the sim card cover make sure either the antenna hole or memory card slot facing down on cooler pad
and speed been 15~17Mbps stable
(tried open ZTE MF680 both cover but speed & signal is decrease remendous )
Combination : ZTE MF680 ( tweaked 33tx ) + TL-MR3420 with Openwrt( top cover open upside down )
[attachmentid=3145585]
VIDEO
i guess it is due to the cooler pad aluminium reflecting signal for the ZTE MF680
so using the powerful fan wont decrease connection speed

hi all
just bought a new mr3420 just now
can only start use it tonight, when i got back home. got this modem from 2008, hopefully it works.
some Question:
1. the E372 that comes with the maxis broadband... is that locked or unlocked?
2. If locked will it still work with the router?
1 ) E372 maxis set is Locked -> to maxis sim only
2) lock modem of course can use with any 3G router as long as the sim card is correct ISP

thanks for the clarification
also noticed the difference between v1 and v2.. where v1 have the QSS button, v2 don't
well u practically doesn't need the QSS button much anyway,..
V2 running less heat much cooler, dialing modem also faster too,
if u are using V2, u can consider upgrade your usb modem

tp-link TD-W8968 this modem can use 3g modem?
Tp Link TL-MR3420 is modem router or router only?
tp-link TD-W8968 = 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router, the tp link stock firmware come with it dont support 3G with the usb port
tp-link TD-W8968 = 3G router, u need to plug in your own 3G usb modem into it
