Restart your laptop, charge up your phone to full, then start the update and walk away from your PC. Leave it until it is done, don't do anything on the PC and make sure you don't touch the wire at all or move your phone during the updating process.

its normal for kies to act up like that. I've never got it the first time. always have to try more then 5 time to get it to finish. I'm also on W7. Maybe can try set your PC sleep to NEVER. It might help.

Gotta agree man. I don't even let the screen switch off when I wanna run an update. Else, shit has a tendency of hitting the fan.

true.. whats more frustrating only took 10 min to update my sis ACE to GB using kies. For SGS2 wanna do basic update always so susah

also.. all SGS2 IN MALAYSIA confirm don't have NFC rite? ICS using NFC to share the information is O_O! tried searching for the SGS2 in malaysia, some says its "OPTIONAL"? got upgrade kit? -.-?

Any ICS firmware updates from Samsung will be months away as Samsung need Nexus to be sell well in the market first. Samsung wont undercut Nexus/Google market that quick. If you want faster ICS firmware, use CM7 instead of waiting official ICS from Samsung :-P

return back ur phone to SSC and request for 1 to 1 exchange. urs still within 7 days rite?
