if modem version don't match also seems to have no problem.. or will there have any side effects? also I just downloaded CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_KI8-v4.3-CWM4.zip kernal coz it seems like the latest.. plan to flash it.. but can't seem to find the matching KI8 modem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1277593 thanks first |

Guys, if you've been using stock rom, or other custom roms that based on stock rom (like villain) like myself, you haveeeee to try Cyanogen rom. It brings the whole Android experience to the whole new level.
Some of the 'features' that I WISHED my Android have, most of them is already INCLUDED in Cyanogen. Just 2 hours of playing with it I already found some of the points I love and adore.... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg, will post more when I found more neat stuff on this BEAST This post has been edited by iori57: Oct 19 2011, 10:23 AM |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Oct 19 2011, 10:26 AM) Glad your liking CM7. There are more to explore and its a great rom. Look at the main android theme thread in XDA. Got lots and lots of theme for you to pick and change on the fly with theme changer. No need to flash anything. ya... all the while been using stock or stock based roms.. didn't know I'm missing so much stuff |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 19 2011, 10:23 AM) It should be finelah. It's one of the most prevailant reso out there, so unless Googster is denying an upgrade for EVERYTHING pre-Nexus, it HAS to be supported well. just saw your reply lol din see it when skimming thru..Hopefully the cheezy software buttons are optional though, or at least reconfigurable. @iori: Tried, went back to VR in about a day. Stuffs all cool but I have most of it in stock anyway. Main issues for me: 1) Dat camera app. No touch focus - fail. 2) No smart dialing. 3) Those horrid fonts and hinting system (plus the fact that changing fonts is a pain in CM7). Minor points but it drove me mad. Especially no 3. 1) ya the camera app no touch focus quite weird 2) apa ni? 3) you tried CM7.1 or 6.x? I looking at the font now... looks nice ah. Never change font so don't know how pain it is, and after what you said I don't think i'll try to change the font hehe Too bad you didn't like it |

according to Cyanogen website: http://www.cyanogenmod.com/about
it supports touch focus... but why i cannot find the 'touch' setting in camera app? it also claims to have permissions management which can block app permissions, but couldn't find it also.. maybe not working for sgs2 Added on October 19, 2011, 1:29 pmnvm i found the permissions management, it is at: CyanogenMod Settings > Application settings and enable Permission management can block those fishy app permissions on any app woot! any Cyanogenmod user? Do you encounter random black outs? (screen turns black and doesn't respond, sometimes wait a while it will come back by pressing power button, but sometimes the phone turns off and you have to hold power button to start the phone..
even with this i still won't switch from this awesome rom yet.. so far happens twice since yesterday... touch wood |

QUOTE(teepee @ Oct 19 2011, 10:11 PM) i've migrated from Cynogenmod 7.1 stable -> nightly #80 -> nightly #87. never had any blackouts before. only force closes but after using the Dev Tool to fix permissions, works flawlessly now without any issues at all. I'm using nightly #87, flashed twice. How to 'use Dev Tool to fix permissions'? teach please which version are u on? and did u follow the steps to wipe date/factory reset then wipe cache before flashing? any changes that made you jump to #87? any critical bug fixes? if not I think I will try going back to stable version. followed step by step to wipe data/factory reset, then wipe cache, wipe dalvik, wipe battery stats, then flash from sd card twice.. |

QUOTE(teepee @ Oct 19 2011, 10:20 PM) on nightly #87, it includes all the bug fixes needed since the stable version. solved the external sd card mounting issue as well as added usb on the go mounting, etc etc. Check here: http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=galaxys2 wah quite some important fixes as I use usb on the go too.. u may give another try by wiping everything off, flashing back to stock rom, from there install CWM recovery and then flash CM7 again. this would be ur last resort but do remember to backup ur data. cheers hmm... nightly 88 out maybe i go try that hehe.. ya sudah backup so can flash here flash there without worries, this is something last time when i using ipong cannot do ok now i going back my ori rom backup at June, when try flashing again |
